Looks like the room truly has made the decision for Army. Binner made a direct statement to the media about this room's desire to battle for each other and it sounds like Schenn is exercising trade protection to stay. This is exactly the type of leadership you want when you talk about building good locker room culture and avoiding a loser mentality.

Call it playoff experience, or playing meaningful games, or whatever. But every young guy in the room just got a clear lesson about the pride and confidence you need to have to be a winner in this league.

Agreed! Can’t be Mad. If DA was leaning sell now I hope he leans towards buy and looks to add something long term to the RHD. My confidence in our ability to keep the playoffs hopes alive is low with Colt being out. I don’t want a stop gap Nemec, Clarke, or Dobson somebody that could serve as not just a now but a long term solution.

Not hard to be mad. I'm pissed. They can say that all they want. What you say does not define a winner. Winning does. And this is the same locker room that is out of a playoff position. This is the same locker room that multiple times have said they didn't show up to play and don't know why. They don't want to leave their friends and their comfortable life in STL. That doesn't mean they are winners. Maybe they are, but they got to go out there and show it.

The more chips we have, the easier it becomes to add players when we need them. Thats why asset accumulation is so important. Collect assets and cash them in when the time is right.

DA has shown the ability to add the ROR, Schenn, Bouwmeester, hell even the Bozaks when the correct time arises. The more assets you have in the bank, the more likely you can pull these deals. Cashing in on these prices is what we should do.

Yea I've already seen some people take this to mean we had a deal in place with Toronto and then Schenn axed it - but it very much could have been Schenn who initiated the conversation with Armstrong basically saying, Don't bother asking, I don't care if they're giving you Matthews, I'm staying in St. Louis.

If that's the case, Army should make a point to say it so that everyone in the room hears it.

Rants to Dallas with an 8 year extension. Wish we had used our Cap space to facilitate that lol. The Central is a blood bath and lol at Colorado going up against Rants and the Stars in the first round.

If there ever was a time to pry Nuke from Carolina, now would be the time. They would highly covet Kyrou after the Rant drama. Wonder if we could get Nuke + Stankoven for Kyrou. Stank could fill Kyrous spot right away (i understand less production) but he's a current NHLer.

That's craziness though. Why compound your stupidity? I like Kyrou, but him and Necas are pretty comparable. So you're gonna trade Necas + Drury + Nikishin for Kyrou and a couple late, future 1sts? That's more fleeced than they already were.
