I just saw Ben Allison was given a one game suspension after picking up a CFB major on Friday night against UPEI. So the Huskies will be without one of their best players Friday night against UNB.

I also just realized him and St. FX’s Sam Allison are brothers…somehow never noticed that before.
And their dad has a 200+ pim season in both the AHL and WHL.

What other siblings are in the AUS right now?

This table tells me that every team except UNB has a game average penalty total close to that of UPEI, when they play UPEI.

In Tuesday's game UPEI had 3 minors for 6 pims, UNB had 22 pims, 6 minors and a 10.

Average per game in 4 UNB/UPEI games is now UPEI 29 pims, UNB 24 pims

Further to the SMU-UPEI game, I saw this clip on Xwitter of Gentile's 2nd EN goal where a UPEI player (Cohen) takes a 2-handed chop at his ankle and breaks his stick.
Bad procedure by the Referee - that's an awarded goal requiring the official to blow the whistle immediately (to avoid any 'over the top' celebrations) and award the goal.

With the win tonight, UdeM has almost locked up 2nd place. A 4 point lead over both SMU and SFX with a head-to-head with SFX next weekend. I think the standings will remain the same in the end unless Gentile does not come back for SMU and SFX may move into 3rd.

Just looking at the box score and it looks like a bit of gong show with 6 Misconducts handed out to each team in the 3rd.

I just watched it on the archives. Started with an open ice hit to the head that was missed by the refs. Lots of punches thrown but the gloves stayed on so no fighting majors.

I didn't see it, but it looks like everyone on the ice got 2 & 10.

On a different topic, did Elliott go knee-on-knee with Gentile and no penalty called? Again, I didn't see it but was told that may have been the case.

I was watching the game on stream and watched the replay. At the time I didn't think the it would be a serious injury because Elliott did not have his knee sticking out. But considering Gentile's injury it appears that the knees impacted.

I got curious with the talk of Gentile being out. Here is each teams leading scorer and the percentage of goals they have had a point on this year

PR,ES,BC - 25.2% UNB
Michel - 25.7%. Moncton
Burns - 31%. Acadia
MacDougall - 31.1%. Dalhousie
Trott - 33.3%. StfX
Gentile - 34.5%. SMU
Pearson - 38.5%. UPEI

Allison hit someone from behind, it wasn't exactly a crosscheck to the back to send him headfirst into the boards. It was more like a hip check. Ref ( Trevor Timmons) give him five and a game. Norman Beck, color guy for broadcast, was surprised. The numbers were there, so you have to be careful, still think it should have been 2 and 10. Nevertheless, guy went down like he had been shot, and everyone milled around shoving and dancing. I thought he might have been hurt, then I saw the proverbial old, peer up and look for the referee, no sighting, put head back down!

oh yeah? I missed that, replayed it over and over, just saw Trenholm grapple with one UdeM guy and wrestled him into the goalie then all hell broke loose. Will Thompson paired off with one guy behind the net, nailed him sent him down three times, then on the third jumped on him, and some other guy jumped on Thompson. Everybody got 2 and 10 but SMU ended up with a power play. Might have been for the guy who jumped Thompson. Like the night before, for SMU, Moncton was a step ahead all night, completed passes, safe puck control, and a pace faster, they were ready to play. SMU was forever trying to beat guys one on one, one on two and worse.

Gentile will have an MRI sometime and the results may not be know for a week or more. Quite possible, gone for the year.
