2024-2025 AUS Thread

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. With the loss of players to the FISU I anticipate UNB losing a couple of games in January. An 11 point lead is too large for the second place teams to overcome though.
 
Not really sure where to post this… Holy crap does the name “U Sports” make searching twitter etc difficult … To see everything you need to search “U Sports hockey” , “Usports Hockey” and “USport hockey”…. Did you mean “e-sports hockey?”…

I just typed "usport hockey" and got lots of links including Elite Prospects where they have a whole section on CIS hockey with loads of stats.

I was talking about twitter , checking to see what people have to say and what articles are posted.

I just saw that on your original post. English is not my 1st language and I flunked in reading comprehension.
USports Hockey on Xwitter yields very little and most posts have no comments.

Any wild predictions out there for the second half? Or much of the same?

Battle for 2nd is a toss up IMO. I have no idea who will be the victor there...very tight and will be interesting down the stretch for sure. Gonna go with UNB and SMU with first round byes

I think ACA has the edge over UPEI. Much of the same from DAL unfortunately

Agree that ACA will finish ahead of UPEI. Already 6 points ahead and UPEI will be missing their coach and 2 players for 5 games. UNB has a comfortable lead despite some folks thinking they'll lose 10 of the next 5. I wouldn't count SFX out as a bye team. Also, can't count UdeM out. I'll wait over the next 4-5 games and see how it works out.

I was going to post on the ACA-DAL game last night, but I'll just say that DAL looked lost for most of the game. They did score twice in the final minutes, something that ACA needs to clean up. I know they were up 8-1.

I’m planning on making the trip to Moncton on Saturday. Assuming the postponed game will be on a Wednesday night in the next few weeks.
Winds are around 90km/h on the bridge so perhaps the women left earlier ?

As long as it was before Port Elgin, Murray Corner would be an option, and it comes out and meets 15 twelve KM past Port Elgin. There are a couple of access roads to it as well, don't have to go all the way back to the bridge. It sound dubious to me!

Another 8 goal against game for DAL last night. SMU scored 7 on Chenard over 2 periods and 1 more on Forbes who took over in the 3rd.

A lot like the ACA game Monday, DAL has very little defensive structure. Guys are skating in sand while the opposing team wins every race.

But they compete to the final whistle every game. I just wish they could improve; would make the games more enjoyable for me.

ACA padded their lead over UPEI with the win last night. SFX won't want to lose 2 on the weekend, so they'll probably pound SMU tonight.

Uberti played his 1st game last night since his concussion 30 seconds into the Exhibition game with WAT on September 20.

Good game for SFX last night. They were the better team, defensively. SMU looked a bit shaky at times in their own end with bobbled/missed passes.

SFX new guy Pugliese had a good game. Scored 1st goal and skated well. He'll fit in with them.

Very entertaining game with UdeM/SMU. I had said last time they played that I like the way UdeM plays- fast and physical. Both West and Adam made a lot of good saves to keep it fun.

Looking at the box score from the Island, DAL was up 4-2 before UPEI rattled off 5 goals. Then it was a bit of a shit show with 14 seconds left in the 3rd, with 2 fighting majors and game misconducts and everyone else on the ice given 10's.

Good game by ACA to get a point from the Red Army. We'll see if SMU can do something tonight.
