Foligno is a 36 yo 4th liner and Terevainen is a lower end 2nd liner.

I say he's playing with hot garbage, yes. Also they have no one to drive offense from the backend. Michkov is surrounded by a much better team.

Chicago tanked to a dangerously low level, they might have a hard time to get out of there long term even with Bedard.
Do you realize how bad the Flyers are? They're not exactly a loaded roster. Michkov is also being centered by a guy in Couturier who is dangerously close to being a 4th liner himself at this point.

They aren't in drastically different situations.

Roy said he finally realized after leaving Colorado that you can only do one: coach or GM.

If he wanted to make personnel decisions he should have held out for a GM role.
Yeah and I think he's honestly right about it to. The jobs are different. The HC is all about winning every single day. The GM is about ensuring the long-term health of the organiztion. These two things can be in conflict with each other.

However, I don't think for a minute that Roy has given up on being a GM. I would not be surprised if he's Lou's replacement on Long Island.

I watched the Oilers and Wings game and Detroit is one of those clubs who outplay their opponents but don't have the talent to make a difference. They should have been up 4-1 at the end of the first period yet lose the game. Edmonton looks awful though, absolutely no defensive structure that made them make the Cup finals.

Brother Detroit is not that team. They have been getting their shit pushed in on a regular basis this season, been getting outshot an average of 35-21 per game.

They dominated the Oilers in the 1st period then proceeded to get outshot 29-13 and outscored 3-1 from the 2nd onward.

That is a bad, bad hockey club.

Yep. Very bad analytics.

Sure sounds like he wants everyone to know that he wasn't on board or asked about it.

Doesn't mean Roy doesn't want a say in who is and who isn't on the roster. An Isles fan friend of mine said there's rumors abounding that Roy and Lamoriello had a row outside the locker room about Engvall. Take it with a grain of salt but I don't think this particular marriage is destined to last. Both egos are waaaaaaaaaaaay too big, and Lamoriello at this stage is a pretty bad GM.

Oh yeah, horrible. But I am just sayin' that Detroit with more talent could have put that game to bed by the first period alone...4-1 or 4-0. Pickard kept Edmonton in it.

Like I told you lot, Oilers are a bad team with no structure whatsoever. Not sure how it was lost over an offseason, but that's what it looks like.

Man I really hope that's not an achilles injury for McDavid.

It would be a god damn shame if the best player since Mario Lemieux suffers an injury that affects his greatest skillset on the ice.
Ya I really hope you’re not right here that would be awful
