Playing in the AHL does not active the ELC.I don’t think it’ll result in that. Plenty of 19-year-olds will still be sent back when the NHL club doesn’t want to activate the contract.

What? How is that even possible? Who's paying them then?Playing in the AHL does not active the ELC.
The NHL team? I don't know, but Mikko Rantanen had his ELC slide down because he played his first year with San Antonio remember? What? How is that even possible? Who's paying them then?
Oh, I just looked it up. Interesting, I do not remember that but apparently that's the rule (so long as they're 18 or 19 of course). I still don't think it'll lead to a rash of NHL teams keeping junior players they shouldn't keep though. The NHL team? It is a huge conundrum, and I suspect also a reason a lot of kids choosing American programs over CHL because you can be sent down to the AHL if you are not from the CHL. Stepping into AHL is still a step into professional hockey, if you have dominated the CHL.Oh, I just looked it up. Far as I've been told, Ritchie doesn't really have a lot, if anything, to learn at the junior level. AHL could do him some good, but whatever, he at the very least can get some confidence back and maybe earn some honors like a WJC medal and/or a Memorial Cup.
Please no Stamkos or ROR on Canada they’re cooked and can’t skate

Yeah, usually I'm the one calling for a suspension more often than not but this looks like it was assessed correctly, they called a penalty on the play.
My favorite part of this was Guentzel looking over to the ref to see if he was playing it up enough.

Wilson skates better than both of those guys. The guy who supposedly wants Wilson on the team is running the show, this won't be a skating team
It is tied to the NHL/CHL transfer agreement. That was semi recently extended to 2029, but the parties could negotiate it earlier. Not sure why the CHL would given it would hurt their relative strength when that'll already be tested with the NCAA soon. Though IMO they need to reorganized the league to a 15-18 year old league (with 19 year old overagers) rather than a 16-19 year old league. It'll improve their competitiveness with the USHL and line them up better for transfers to the NCAA.I always assumed the CBA was between the NHL and the players. But not being allowed into the AHL was a CHL/AHL rule.
And adds an element that no one else does, so I can semi understand adding him. With or without Stamkos and ROR Canada will have plenty of better options to score goals and provide two way play.Wilson skates better than both of those guys.
I live this full slate gimmick.
They missed an opportunity to have Vegas start at 1AM.I live this full slate gimmick.
Nobody in Vegas really knows what time it is.They missed an opportunity to have Vegas start at 1AM.
I went wilder and went for a 16 leg goal scorer parlay. It's a lock to bust.I have a 16 game parlay for today.
Game 1 and the entire thing is already in trouble
