[2024 - 134th] Mikus Vecvanags (G) - Acadie-Bathurst Titans (QMJHL) - Committed to Maine (NCAA) in 2026

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Very good news. After seeing a bunch of BCHL players leave to join the CHL teams that drafted them, I was hoping to see Vecvanags join the Titan. Now that playing in the CHL no longer blocks your NCAA eligibility, I wanted him to play in the QMJHL.

He's committed to play in Maine next year.

I guess Martin Lapointe was right after all 🤣

Right and wrong. Right that he ended up in the Q. Wrong as to the team that would select him in the Import Draft.

AB took them ahead of the team Lapointe said was going to take him. Lapointe shouldn't have said anything. Then he went to the BCHL and started like 4 games. Hopefully now he'll get to develop.

Weird that he had to take a 4 month detour to get there, but I'm happy he's in a better developmental league now. I have no idea what the goalie situation looks like in his new team, but I hope he'll get to see a lot more action.

Vecvanags looks like a big miss, but if Thorpe can get 30 goals this year, I'd be very happy with that development.

Dreaming of Thorpe with Florian. Imagine trying to handle those boys on a 4th line.
The returns on Vecvanags haven't been wonderful as of yet, but he's still got quite a bit of runway. Let's see how the next 16 months go.

Sure but going to the BCHL, being a back-up there, and then going to the Q to be a back-up there and struggle. Not the best early returns. Didn't even get a look for Latvia.
