[2024 - 134th] Mikus Vecvanags (G) - Acadie-Bathurst Titans (QMJHL) - Committed to Maine (NCAA) in 2026

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Good luck being destroyed every game now. Lapointe is just a kid who's playing an adult role.

A bad team vs a better one. Better installations vs a team who you always wonder if they are going to leave mid-season. Crap city vs better environment closer to Laval and Montreal.

No...nothing special...no real impact....
How about the impact of getting to games on time? The f***ing 15 is always backed up at Blainville.

There is not a big difference between Bathurst and BLB honestly… BLB is not the same quality that they where when Joel Bouchard was their

Lived In Grande-Anse and Paquetville for 2 years. I'm just not a fan of industrial cities. Like Bathurst and St. John who I visited and just hated it.

Again, though I have no idea why we bring the past in this. In the past you mention, there was actually no mentions of Acadie having to move. Now, it's every year. They could have won 10 Mem Cups, it doesn't change what it is now. There is no comparison to Acadie today and what it was when Bergeron was there. Or not even when Dobson was there.

I did not write that article.

Blainville and Acadie sucks in attendance. But it makes more sense for Blainville with everything that is around. Mind you, Blainville might also lose their team and maybe even sooner than Acadie....but right now, the facilities are better, the fact that it's close to the Habs management makes it better...and the surroundings are better. It's just a fact.
completely agree with your reasoning, makes sense.

Personally I'd like to visit Bathurst someday.
If you go make sure to eat at Big D.

There's some things to work with, he made some spectacular and acrobatic saves today but also gave up the most goals of all the goalies. Will have to manage his blue paint better, was sucking himself back onto the goal line too much which usually happens when your confidence isn't at its highest so I expect some nerves for the newly drafted kid.

He lost his confidence after the first two goals in the 2nd, started to react slow and couldn't handle the simplest of rebounds. Mental is something he will have to work on.

Nice to have a another G prospect in the pipeline.

I think have some good qualities in him.

Well yeah he let it slip, shit happens. Don't think he's an idiot for that. He could be an idiot for other things tho
Yeah it's pretty harsh. He kissed one there, but overall the drafting has been pretty good with Bobrov and him at the forefront. I wouldn't base too much off of this.

If one slipup makes you an idiot forever, I am very sorry for being so dumb.

Dobes Fowler and Volokhin don't fit that description at all.

You'd be hard pressed to find many organizations with 3+ great goalie prospects.
Volokhin seems to be an average Russian goalie and Dobes hasn't really improved from how he was playing at the end of last season.

He and the team has struggled recently.

Maybe that's why they tried to grab another goalie, but either way it wasn't needed at all and with how things have gone its pretty much cemented that that wasn't a needed pick.

Habs have 1 great goalie prospect and 2... intriguing I guess would be a better word.

Would like to see Volokhin get games in the KHL more consistently and hope Laval can straighten things out and see how Dobes is by the end of this season

Dobes has not struggled. The team has. And the more goalies you draft the better. For the most part drafting goalies is a crap shoot.
