Yeah, we need a 1st rounder in that 25-30 range, and a 2nd rounder around 50.

If we give up the 17th OA for PLD, maybe we can ship Dvorak to St. Louis for one of their late 1sts. One of them may be available.
We need a 3c. Yet we want to ship out Dvo. I think that says a lot about his current trade value.

He only has 2 years left on his contract. He's simply not part of the future of this team.
He's only 27. Matheson is 29, who is part of the future. If we wanted Dvo as part of the future, we could re-sign him.

Hes 30 and a depth player. Hes gonna be done in 3 years.

A depth player??? Okayyyy.
Hmmm...34 points in 48 games and +7 on one of the worst teams in the NHL despite a slow start after playing injured in the first half. He's also the best skater on the team and by all accounts an excellent presence in the room.

After getting their asses kicked today against Sweden, Team Canada should have an easier time of it on Day 2: Germany.

Games:

Canada vs Germany, 8:30 am EDT - TSN4
Latvia vs Finland, 10 am EDT - no TV
Slovakia vs Sweden, 12:30 pm EDT - TSN4
Norway vs Switzerland, 2 pm EDT - no TV

Matheson just turned 29 and was 28 most of the season. Dmen often hit their prime at Matheson's age. Brandon Montour is the same age. Josh Morrissey's a year younger. All three had massive breakout seasons. Petry was 30 when he had a breakout season and then had several 40+ point seasons in a row.

Maybe there's still hope for you to hit your stride at age 30! :naughty:

All the players you mentionned were, at worst, number 3 Dmen before their "breakout". Matheson was, at best, a 4th before this year.
