Man, it's gonna be a challenge for Nemec to rack up points. Slovak's offense is non-existent. He's shooting the puck a lot and making plays though, which is what you want to see.
Deffinitly, and he played over 27 minutes in first game vs SUIVilen might be our most underrated prospect. So smooth and steady.
That's curious, I actually slightly prefered his first! Pretty strong game overall from him, you can just see the poise and IQ.Didn't love Nemec's first period, but he had a great second. Vilen is very very good.
I think you just missed the fact that SUI penalty had just expired bit before their 1st goal. I think Kemell was on the 2nd PP unit, so thats probably why he was out there with weird combination.#37 Kemmell played at total of 14:04.
1st: 2:43 2nd: 4:20 3rd: 6:21 OT:0:40
Turning to him in “break glass in case of need of goals” on makeshift lines or hope for something on PP (is he on the PP?) doesn’t seem like the best way to get something out of him.
I didn’t see the game but…
It says he was on the ice for the 1st Swiss goal against with 3 Forwards: #15 Hameenaho (TOI 6:47) and #18 Miettinen (TOI 14:15), #29 Huuhtanen (TOI 15:04)
and one Defensemen: #21 Heimosalmi (20:31)
I feel like I’m reading it wrong in some dumb way lol
How did that happen?

Nemec did? Is he ok? (I had to leave lol)I think its some crazy brotherhood to go and block a shot when youre losing by 3 goals with 5 minutes left. Huge respect.
No it was someone else I’m pretty sureNemec did? Is he ok? (I had to leave lol)
Seems like an awfully optimistic take on Hughes' game.By the time he hits the NHL, Luke Hughes will be a different player than he is now, just as he's a different player now than he was last year. Though he clearly displays the hockey IQ and ultra-elite athleticism to excel defensively, he's still learning the nuances of defending.
I'm not worried about Luke Hughes. You're talking about a kid with rare offensive upside, who has shown great improvements defensively, though he still has a way to go. Defense is a tough position, and we're talking about a kid who just missed the cutoff for the 2022 draft by a matter of days. It may take him until 2024-25 to carve a regular role on the NJ Devils blueline, but when he comes he'll be worth the price of admission
Yeah like @Captain3rdLine said, it was someone else. Cant remember who honestly. Was limping to the bench.Nemec did? Is he ok? (I had to leave lol)
Completely agree with this. I was one of the biggest Luke Hughes supporters in his draft year and I still think he has special offensive traits and physical abilities that are beyond elite, especially his skating.Seems like an awfully optimistic take on Hughes' game.
After a season and a half of college hockey and several international appearances both at the junior and men's level he should be far more positionally sound than he showed last night.
Whether it was over-confidence playing U20 against an inferior opponent or merely recklessness his consistent lack of attention to detail and wandering were disconcerting; especially for a player who is the team captain.
Even though he was -3 today, I wouldn’t put any goals on him. I thought he had a very good game. Playing 6 minutes more than the 2nd SVK TOI leader is wild lol. Good start for him. Also had 5 shots.Nemec played a game leading 26:50 (next Slovak 20:55)
Put up a game leading 5 shots
But was -3
Vilen led Finland in ice time with 26:27 (next finn 21:55)
Got a primary assist and was +1
Someday maybe we look back on this and see that they were destined to play on a pair for NJ.Nemec played a game leading 26:50 (next Slovak 20:55)
Put up a game leading 5 shots
But was -3
Vilen led Finland in ice time with 26:27 (next finn 21:55)
Got a primary assist and was +1

Vilen > Nemec and its not even particularly close
