So is this kind of a Bardakov situation then? Because every time I see something on Bardakov, I really like what I see...but then I'm like damn, he looks so sloooooooooow and lumbering.
Bardakov isn't nowhere slow. The question is where his skating will be after the injury, but before that he wasn't nowhere close to be slow.

What it means is that he makes bad decisions, bad reads and makes bad passes pretty regularly. But he's so damn elite at skating and stick handling that he easily makes up for those mistakes/covers then up. And I don't think he will be able to do that in the NHL as regularly. He's thriving on lesser competition not because he's a fundamentally sound player but because no one can hang with his skating and stick handling. He is going to have to incorporate solid fundamentals to succeed when he gets to the NHL and I think it will be a challenge for him for a bit.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not worried. Maybe more tempering expectations. He's not going to jump into the league and immediately be Erik Karlsson.
Luke might actually achieve this, in the sense that Erik Karlsson was extremely erratic defensively and inconsistent offensively in his first two seasons with the Ottawa Senators. It was his third season, if I recall correctly, when Karlsson became a consistently dominant offensive force, and he did not establish himself as a solid two-way player until his 4th or 5th year in the league. It is not inconceivable that Luke's career path might vaguely resemble Karlsson's, since they are not entirely dissimilar talents.

Well, I mean he's not going to step into the league as prime Karlsson. Apologies as I thought I implied that.

But yeah, he has the tools to follow that trajectory.

There are advantages to being on your offhand, but also disadvantages. Especially in the defensive zone, being on your offhand is tougher.

And there's Dougie, Marino, Nemec all on the right. Then on top of that Casey. Luke will be on the left

Hey Steven, I know you like Steve Kournianous and Cam Robinson a ton. If you were the GM of an NHL team, and you had to use one draft list over another, would you go Kournianous or Robinson? Obviously you don’t have to answer, I’m just curious which direction you’d go.

Ridiculous the NHL Network isn't showing Finland vs Sweden because they need to show a 90 minute preshow for another outdoor game at a venue they have already had an outdoor game at. f*** off.
The WJC is like a sacred event for TSN in Canada so they show every game at least.

Finland's puck management is atrocious. Sweden ties it 1-1 on a terrible turnover.
