A poster literally said that Vladdy was too stupid to have dropped the ball for the double play a couple games back and that Merrifield must have told him to do it. Post is still there.

The treatment Guerrero is getting from a segment of this fanbase right now is gross. And again, it feels like a continuation of the people who were constantly triggered by the Caribbean players having fun in the dugout last year and the HR jacket and all of that.

There are 3 things going on with Vladdy right now :

1) He has a mechanical problem in his swing which has popped up for periods throughout his career where he rolls over on balls and hits them on the ground too much.

2) He hurt his knee in mid-May after getting of to a great start for the first 50 games and then went into the worst slump of his career immediately after returning.

3) He seems to press too much when things are going poorly and starts swinging on pitches outside of the zone, and loses his normally excellent strike zone management.

None of this has anything to do with Guerrero being lazy or a fat slob or unprofessional or dumb or having his shirt untucked or doing Gatorade showers.

I didn’t watch the game with that weird double play and only even saw it a few days later. That’s why I said I didn’t see it not that it didn’t happen. That is a weird comment for sure. But to claim everyone is racist because someone made a particularly distasteful post seems like an equally gross overstepped. In fact I’d say what you did is much much worse.

Hurting his knee is something that can become a common thing for him because he is a bigger player.

He’s never faced adversity because it’s always been so natural for him with the bay and this is the first time really in his career he needs to find a way out of it. We all hoped that hr derby might flip a switch for him but it didn’t.

Two things:

1. If Jansen is running hard out of the box that’s an easy triple.

2. If this team was hitting better he wouldn’t have even tried. But because he knows this team can’t hit with RISP he tries to get to 3rd with one out.

It’s incredibly frustrating listening to Atkins talk about how confident he was with this roster. Guy is either delusional or incompetent, maybe both.

Remember when I was ripping Chapman and you started feeding all bs stats.

He’s f***ing garbage just stop with the bs

No need to push for a triple especially when you’re slow like Jansen. Terrible baserunning decision

The single time in baseball where it’s most worth taking a risk at getting to 3rd is with 1 out and the bottom of the lineup coming up.

I have no problem with Jansen pushing for 3rd there. Logic was sound.

Problem was that he didn’t run hard out of the box and if he was one stride further ahead he makes it.

Why isn't Schneider getting regular at bats. He's pretty much been ghosted since the Cleveland series. Team isn't scoring and he's one of the few guys with some pop in his bat.

Sure, that speaks on why people pick at weight issues, but complaining that he doesn’t try hard enough because he goofs around with his teammates is superficial. Gurriel and Teo were able to share that blame but now that they’re gone it’s like Vladdy was the sole perpetrator all along and he’s singlehandedly destroying the culture of the team.
It’s just frustration man. Guys lock onto something and that’s it. Repeating it endlessly is a little much. I didn’t like the atmosphere around the team for sure last year but I have no issue with what Vladdy does this year. You can also go too far the other way and be too serious where the struggles they are having get worse if there isn’t someone that can lighten the mood. It’s about that balance. But I think say even last year you watch guys like Teo and Gurriel make poor defensive decisions and then people assume it’s because they aren’t serious. They are in fact just not great fielders. So the guys having bad seasons being non athletic builds makes it an easy reason for guys to jump on. Vladdy takes the brunt because he’s one of the faces on the franchise. Not making excuses for them but I can understand what the thought process is.

Because the other Schneider is a terrible manager would be my guess

Chapman is more frustrating to watch than Vlad.

Sit down Chaps. That was a strike, on a hanging breaking ball too.
He’s just lost at the plate. Watching balls go right down the middle

Biggio one of their hotter hitters and than Merrifield, no need for a no speed Jansen to try and steal a triple

Yeah. Probably time to give him some days off. Especially since his defense has started declining this year too.
