His problem is his barreled balls are travelling shorter distances than before. Hot weather is supposed to improve that
You know your bball .. you can't play hockey when you are a fat f*ck .. dudes Vlady and Manoah are both fat f*cks who better get maturity quick before they blow it for themselves personally with contracts and jays fans .. we need our 2 best players to get into SHAPE

Hockey has way more stop and go, high intensity elements though. As a 1B you're in the action quite often but I wouldn't consider the conditioning requirement to be that of a CF/SS in baseball or really any position in hockey. Plus mass moves mass and someone as big as Vladdy should be featuring a ton of power like Alonso, Burger, Schwarber, etc. Tellez and Vogelbach are down in ISO too but it's hard to consider weight or conditioning an issue even with the new pitch clock rules.

Yeah, because baseball totally has a history of fat players sucking. David Wells, Mo Vaughn, CC Sabathia, Both Fielders at varying points in their careers, Bartolo Colon, Dmitri Young, Pablo Sandoval, Jonathan Broxton, Babe frigging Ruth.

Maybe they need to get into better shape with regards to cardio or something like that, but let's not pretend that them being massive guys is some automatic death knell. Pitchers and 1Bs have always historically been able to perform even if they're heavy because the weight doesn't have an impact on them the way it would at other positions. Now Kirk, on the other hand... Though in his case it's less about him being less effective because of his weight and more that he's gonna murder his knees and be moved off the position sooner if he continues to carry such a heavy frame.

Where is Kirk going to be moved to, though? I think you need to be taller to play 1st base. Realistically, I don’t think he will have any other position besides catcher.

I the case of Manoah i think it's more mental than anything else. He looked really off since his start in playoffs last year like he has trouble handling the pressure all of a sudden. I remember in playoffs last year i was watching the game with a friend and before things started to go south we were both talking about how he looked stressed at the mound (body language). Manoah would not be the first talented pitcher to have trouble managing his stress after a bad performance in playoffs.

Vlad not sure. He looks relatively fit. Not sure his weight is a problem either anyway not at the plate as a DH. He looks lost. His swing looks slow too. There's no pop in hit like his father had. Could be mental more than anything else too.

Kirk though i just don't see how he can keep being a catcher with his weight. His speed on base is an issue too considering he's more a contact hitter than anything else. I mean belt and Vlad are slowish on base but Kirk is something else. One of the slowest runner i've seen who is not a power hitter. Not a big fan of his personally.

Best starting lineup of the year imo. Vladdy back in. Let's go!

Yeah this lineup makes more sense that what we had earlier. Merrifield is a better first batter than Springer is this season. Springer makes more sense at 5th imo. Belt is more useful at 3rd since his OBP is not wasted. Nothing against Kirk but the team is better with him out of the lineup imo.

If the Jays can take this game, it will be a big plus for the rest of the series.

Rodriguez has been pitching well in the last few starts. Jays face Flaherty and Kremer in the next games.

Let’s see if the Jays can go into Baltimore and not get out smarted, out hustled, and out managed by those lucky buggers.
They have definitely had luck on their side, but if luck has helped them get to a 100+ win pace, without that luck they are still probably a 90-95 win team. They have a really elite bullpen, defense and good position players at every position.

Why don’t I see any…..

It’s early
Lots of season left
Relax take a chill pill

???

It’s because all those f***ing games meant something. We’re gonna the playoffs by a game again. Just like I said months ago.

Nice one Vladdy. Geez he is such a moron
More concerned about his dugout antics than playing the f***ing game. Guys garbage.

haha this reminds me of a buddy of mine hardcore leafs fan, he would come over to watch the game, and if the leafs fell behind 1-0 in the first minute he would literally say f*** this im done, games over and drive home lmao!

So they’ll move Springer out of the lead off spot and demote Manoah, but apparently Vladdy has the 3/4 spot in the order locked down.

Guy could be hitting .220 with a .700 OPS and they’d still bat him in that spot.
