Giants have sneakily been in free fall mode for a month. Blew another game tonight.

I think they'll miss in the end
They don’t have the line-up to sustain a run. They were never expected to do anything anyway so I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re right. The Cubs are a team I would not want to mess with in the playoffs. Bellinger is a superstar bat that is going to get paid. He is red red hot. He’s basically carrying the Cubs offence with a mixture of others

I still can’t believe the Dodgers just non tendered him… just goes to show you how deep their farm system is, and how open they are about giving opportunities. Here we love yo give our kids the bench after going a week without producing while they completely forget that without him we don’t sweep Boston.

What does our kid do getting back in the lineup, he crushes another HR..

What a great management team we have, telling Schneider to bench a kid they called up because he wasn’t showing enough yet hit the 2 biggest HR’s of the year, and then have a guy who they’d eventually DFA to take over his spot in the lineup and produce worse numbers…

I mean Shatkins is Clevelanding one of the top markets in baseball. This dude doesn’t realize his ass from his analytical notes

The benches clearing in that Seattle/Houston game was stupid. You'd have to be a moron to think that Valdez would throw at a guy by burying it in the dirt and bouncing it into his feet.
Didn’t bounce it and Astros fans themselves have said Framber has done this before after giving up a homerun and he needs to give up the act. He’s a man child who can’t handle getting his ass beaten.

What? The guy they eventually DFA'd plays a position Schneider has never played in his life.

Beyond the fact that it's ridiculous to think any front office micromanages stuff like this, they could have easily sent him down with the way he hit the last few games. The manager decided to keep him around and instead gave him a bit of time off. Even with yesterday's huge HR, he's 2 for his last 21 with 11 Ks since that series in Boston. I want to see him in the lineup almost every day at this point, but if they need to give him a few days to settle things down a little, I have no problem with that.

Jays
14 against teams that are better than them
3 against Boston
21 against lesser teams including the Yankees

Seattle
21 against teams better than them
14 against lesser teams

The problem hasn't been Belt, Kiermaier, or even Varsho, it's been Vladdy, Kirk, Chapman, Espinal, Biggio, Jansen,...guys that have been with the team for years. It still falls on Atkins to have done better getting someone with some offence other than DeJong. And the way the lineup is constructed some days...yikes. Can we DFA Schneider?

Agreed in this. He wasn’t exactly lighting the world on fire. Seemed like a good quick reset for him and they could have explained they will be calling him back up in a week so not to worry. My only other thought is that they have another player they want to use the spot on. I believe it’s only one roster player and one pitcher allowed now.

Didnt they try and sign a FA and kicked tires on Freeman?

Freeman was a rumour (was 2 years ago) but I’m not sure anything really materialized there. I know Yoshida was a target but Boston blew every offer out of the water. Based off KK’s comments the Jays were after him since free agency began. Belt may have been a backup after Bellinger signed with the Cubs.

Bellinger was the guy I was thinking about.

End of the day the core guys outside of Bo just haven't been good enough this season. As a front office you aren't going to account for Vlad turning into a replacement level bat at 1B and Kirk falling off pretty bad offensively as well.

John Schneider? I wish

Jays up 5-0 in the 2nd with homeruns from Kiermaier and Belt. The Jays don't have a single yet but have 2 homers, 2 doubles and a triple. I didn't expect this off of Greene.
