Petey showed serious signs of life, but for those who keep expecting him to look uninjured and go back to being one of the fastest forwards with one of the hardest shots without an off season of rest and training, they are continually disappointed and they are never quiet about it.
He made some really dynamic plays and looked a lot like he did during Miller's absence which is to say had sure hands, made some nice plays, creative, but didn't have the gas to exploit the space he created like he would have last year.
Had a breakaway and had the right idea and lots of space but put it over the net. Overall, quite encouraging.
His body language is also miles better since losing the MAGA moron.

Boeser created very little, Garland is slumping.
Myers seems to struggle with breaks. He looked really good with MPetey before the break and then has been an appalling liability the last two games.
I'm not making a broad proclamation, because he'll get it back. But man, his worst games aren't close to NHL quality.

Chytil and O'Connor weren't great but were decent. They play off each other's speed well and look for each other. Boeser has been really hit or miss with them and tonight it was a miss.
Wasn't surprised we gave up the goal with Forbert in the box since he's our secret sauce on the PK.
I went to fairly great pains to watch this game late at night and overall, it could have been an email.
Hey MN19, go figure I agree with you completely again lol. This seems to happen very often.
One thing I'll say regarding Petterson is sometimes people lose the forest for the trees. Some people are looking so hard at denigrating Petey they are missing the entire team struggling and looking less than average. Petey is still tied for second on the team in points behind the great #43. It feels like this is equally a team problem. It's simply just been a struggle for everyone who is not QH. The month long spaz out from Miller certainly didn't help.
The whole team to a man has not looked like world beaters and we're just hanging on eking out wins here and there on defensive systems hockey. A lot of posters favorite Garland has completely disappeared. Debrusk is scoring again but doing not much else. Boeser has completely dried up without Miller. I really like Chytil but he is making his way in unchartered waters and isn't a huge point getter typically anyway.
The rest of the guys are support players and Sherwood, Hoglander, Suter, Blueger, etc., are not providing much of anything production wise. Joshua is finally looking better as he gets his ordeal behind him but the production is also not there yet.
One other thing is I like DOC a fair bit but it's also a heftyish contract. Did it need to be done so quickly? While I like our ability to target bottom 6 guys with promise and not giving them 4 or 5 year deals we need to focus on the top of the line-up because these guys will not pay dividends without elite players to support.
If only Petterson finished on that breakaway the conversation might be quite different. He had Vejmelka completely beat but simply missed the yawning opening he created. Our defence is now a strength and our offence is non-existent.
