Any hof pitchers of the past 30 years would do well today. I mean Pedro Martinez change up was pretty much unhittable by guys like Varsho, Chapman and Belt. They would not touch Randy Johnson either.
Randy was more heat than Pedro. Pedro was around 90-92 maybe, but could still hit 95 when warranted. His control, like Maddux, was elite, unlike so many pitchers these days. They can extend these pitchers today if they leaned more towards control vs radar guns.

Some of the players look as visibly upset as I seen since before charlie got fired. And for good reason. 4 run lead blown in the 9th.

Managing can make bad decisions but they can't play the game. Blowing a game like that falls on the players... they were playing not to lose. Espinal not getting that runner at home was the sign they were gonna snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

The pen has shown some chinks in the armour recently. Pearson 4 earnies on Saturday, and now Swanson. I was really surprised to see Swanson giving up 4 in the 9th. Really hurts. Oh well, take the series today then go home and start a nice and long winning streak.

They have been used a lot, its no surprise. Schneider always pulling starters early.

Toronto seems to have an analytics department with a fleeting understanding of analytics.

While small sample sizes are either laughed at or offered with a caveat here, Toronto actively uses them in decision making.

Could you elaborate? Because if that were the case majority of the roster would have been flipped.

No, Buck. Win probabilities do factor those things in because they are based on historical situations that would encompass all those variables being present in every combination. The probability assumes the potential for your pen to be tired because it measures the success rate of games that included tired pens, or dominant starters, or whatever else.

Also if you're going to play the "well this stat is worthless because it's not perfectly predictive" then you might as well through every form of analysis out the window because nothing is totally infallibly accurate.

Probably already discussed but ...

The Mariners are acquiring right-hander Trent Thornton from the Blue Jays, reports Jeff Passan of ESPN. Thornton was designated for assignment last week when the Jays acquired Génesis Cabrera. The Mariners are sending infielder Mason McCoy to the Jays in exchange.
