I still believe in Espinal based on his track record prior to this year. If he can get back to hitting lefties well then I think he's a great fit as a defense-first utility/platoon infielder. If they replace him with Clement, I'm not sure they have anyone on the roster who can play an adequate SS if they need someone to fill in for Bo.There’s enough of a logjam in the minors now that they need to move on from Espinal. I understand with Biggio playing better of late there’s less ABs to go around but having a Goins bat on the bench isn’t providing anything of value. Ride the hot hand of Clement or go out and grab an Edman to bolster the bench and hitting vs lefties. I like Espinal but I don’t think he’s going to be able to figure it out here. He needs PAs which we cannot afford to give him.
