Truly magical, that El Mago.

In all seriousness i totally support that call by Hinch.

Baez was brought in to kind of be a leader/veteran to help this Tiger squad not suck ass. He has done absolutely nothing and now looks like he doesn't care this season.

Hits one double all season, pimps it because he thought it was gone ands then he gets thrown out on the dumbest TOOTBLAN in recent memory. I'd staple his ass to the bench too.

Plus the debacle "f*** it" moment yesterday.

I'd send him home. Not even stapled to the bench, just tell him he can watch on TV if he doesn't give a crap about giving a crap. Sure it'll cost them a ton of money, but better that than him poisoning the team with his idiocy.

He didn't even mess up correctly. Players sometimes forget how many outs there are, it happens. But even if he thought there were 2 outs, he's not hustling like he should be, he's just casually jogging towards 3rd waiting for what he assumes to be the end of the inning.

First he messed up knowing how many outs there were, and then he didn't hustle like he should have if there were indeed 2 outs.

Bassitt is getting through this game against a bad lineup but I'm not exactly loving the amount of fly balls and hard contact, and don't think this level of performance will go quite as well against the Yankees in Yankee stadium.

Crazy thing is that according to Buck and Dan the Tigers had a team meeting focusing on cleaning up baserunning mistakes after the disaster game they had on that front yesterday. And then their highest-paid veteran player does that.

Smart play Tigers.

Oh man. Hard time hitting the strike zone. I was pretty high on this guy coming into the season. It is still early though.

They aren't.

14th in average
15th in OPS
12th in wRC+

They're average-ish, not nearly worst in MLB.

EDIT:

also 10th best in K rate
They said on air Jays are worst in league with runners in scoring position hitting .112. They are also 1 for 12 tonight which is putrid.
