Bergevin sent me an offer sheet
I still think Binnington is overrated. But his value sure did increase. But Edmonton should be the team trading for him as Hofer could take over as the Blues' starter quite soon.
I think it's more likely that we bring Ellis up than us targeting a goalie in a return. Taking on a goalie cap dump, ideally an expiring one is fine, but I don't think we'd target a goalie that holds any significant value. Ellis really turned a corner last season, and has continued that form this season. With the rumors of moving Binner, as well as the rumors of Schenn or Parayko potentially to the Leafs.
Would Woll (grew up a Blues fan) be of interest and what is his value to St Louis in a package for one of the players I mentioned.
Blues don't retain salary unless it is an expiring contract this year. Need a 3rd team to take money then.1st, 2nd, Akey & Stu Skinner for Binner at 25% retained?

Flames didn't either, until they traded Markstrom, then they did. Something not happening in the past doesn't mean it will never happen. If the Blues get enough back to make retaining worth it, they will. By retaining 31.25% for 2 years the Flames were able to get Kevin Bahl in the Markstrom deal.Blues don't retain salary unless it is an expiring contract this year. Need a 3rd team to take money then.
You must be so furious at how much Binnington owns the TD Garden.Extremely low. A bottom 5 starting goalie has little value. What is his contract?
Eh, I get what you’re saying but that’s not a fair comparison to Lou. He was always known as a premiere goaltender unlike BinningtonThis is kind of like asking what was Luongo's value after he won the gold medal in the 2010 Olympics? Then let me ask what was his value after game 7 of the 2011 Stanley Cup final?

What rumors are there on Parayko?
Short answer no, the only reason it makes sense to move Binner is Hofer is starting to get to the point where we should see what we have in him as a starter, and Ellis is closing in on a spot where he'll probably get an NHL opportunity. Not to mention our team isn't really performing any differently as of late.
The reason we would trade Binner is the reason why I don't see the Blues entertaining moving Parayko unless there's a piece there that could jump in next year in a significant role. Leafs don't really have that.
Who says I'm wrong?! Other than that phenomenal rookie season from Binnington, he's not shown to be consistent enough being a big money #1 goalie on the same level as Gibson/Markstrom. Plus at times Binnington acts immature when things don't go exactly his way. Despite Binnington's one playoff season with the Blues Cup winning run, in order I would take Gibson, then Markstrom over Binnington. Just showing up in the playoffs or for some playoff runs, doesn't make you a good goalie. Adin Hill and Matt Murray both fit that category. Regular season both goalies in their career have been okay, but both had very good playoff runs.Being wrong is your prerogative

This issue with a trade like this from an Oilers perspective:How about 1st Round Pick 2026, 2nd Round Pick, Adam Henrique, Noah Philp & Stuart Skinner to St. Louis for Binnington & Oskar Sundqvist (large right-shot centre)?
This issue with a trade like this from an Oilers perspective:
Trading Adam Henrique, while I feel is necessary, is a bad look for the organization. So it probably won't happen unless he wants to leave.
Noah Philp is a player the team still believes in and will fill the role of 4C soon enough. Also, he is on an entry level contract, and the team can't get enough of those in the line up.
Oskar Sundqvist always seems hurt to me. I don't think the guy has ever played a full season in the NHL and he's like.. 30.
Just something to consider.
He had a VERY good D in front of him. He was great in 1 of those 4 games. A whole lotta meh in the other three.Imagine if he had a good D in front of him

All of the bolded is untrue. Markstrom and Gibson both have had serious consistency issues.
If by acting immature you mean standing up for himself when he's run etc. sure, that hasn't been an issue in the last 2-3 years though.
What Binnington has done that neither of those players have done is prove that he is a winner. Do you know what teams that are looking to add a goalie right now are wanting to do? Win championships.
Sundqvist is just terribly slow now. Great versatile depth piece. Wouldn't expect any scoring from him although he's for some reason on our PP1 continually.

I'd say he's absolutely a step above those guys since he's won a cup without a star-studded roster carrying him.So much hyperbole from both the haters and homers.
Binnington is a middle of the pack starter, he not bad and he's not elite. He's in teh same group as Markstrom, Gibson... etc
