Blue Jays down to their final 3 outs of the season, unless they can do something here in the 9th inning.

The Matrix
No, this is 100% on Atkins and or Shapiro. They did this very same thing a few years ago against Tampa. They pulled Shoemaker 1 time through the order after he’d given up nothing and immediately gave up the lead and never recovered. Exactly the same scenario as today. Schneider is an idiot but he’s not the one making these decisions. Put the blame where it belongs.

When you say they did a good job tearing it down, what do you mean?

To me it would mean trading those vets for young players/prospects to help in the future, but I can't think of a single impact young guy we got in return for all of those quality vets we had when they took over.

I’m looking at it from a Macro perspective.

Teams like the Jays, KC, Texas, and Baltimore were in the playoffs in 15 and 16 like the Jays.

Jays were back in the playoffs 4 years later in 2020 and won on average 90 games from 2021-23 making the playoffs 2 time.

The Rangers and Baltimore only made it to the playoffs this year, 7 years later and KC aren’t even close. So early on, they were able to do the right thing.

You can add in teams like Boston and the Yankees and the Jays are in a better position than they are now and moving forward. Only teams in the AL to be definitely better and/or more consistent since 2017 are the Rays and Astros. And that isn’t an easy feat in the AL East.

Jays most explosive offense came when they played Davis, Clement and Horwitz.

But no, go back to Matt Chapman and Santiago Espinal.

Maybe we can Ragans our way to a tie

I know he went into a slump but I don't know why babe Schneider wasn't in the lineup these first two games. He is the only hitter on the playoff roster who doesn't look scared at the plate. I will take his at bats (even when he strikes out) over these other guys. He had a 30 at bat slump that is nothing compared to the month+ long slumps a lot of these guys had.

There is no manager in the history of baseball that would have scratched Matt Chapman in the playoffs.

Espinal has 1 AB in the series and got a hit so not sure what you're on about there. Edit : 2-2 now.
