They pulled Shoemaker 1 time through the order after he’d given up nothing and immediately gave up the lead and never recovered. Exactly the same scenario as today. He'll tell his bosses that the underlying numbers suggest they should've won at least half those games, had they been simulated 1000 times, and that's what matters.

This is what Seattle's GM said today:

There's still no point to get Romano out in the 7th inning if you don't score. You keep Romano for 1 maybe two outs in the 8th and 9th innings and you bring someone else in the 7th innings and early 8th innings.
