The team did have to win a game or two themselves to make the playoffs btw.

89 wins is such an incredible accomplishment. Their 1-6 record vs Texas and 3-10 record vs Baltimore should give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Luckily TB is so beat up the Jays actually might stand a chance against them.

12 games out of a pennant race is a great accomplishment? 9 games back from the 2nd place team is something to crow about? If the Jays face anyone but TB in the 1st round they will lose. This team is a paper tiger.

Maaaybe just take a single moment to actually enjoy being a fan of a team. How they did or didn't do against teams in the regular season doesn't mean a thing right now. They won enough games to get into the playoffs. This team has been a 90ish win team going on 4 years now. While there were a lot of frustrations about this season, there is a serious entitlement problem with a certain portion of this fanbase. Our ace from last season imploded and Vlad was replacement level and we still are right at 90 wins. That is good, we easily could have been the Padres or Yankees this season.

Making the postseason regardless of standing is a great accomplishment for any org in baseball. I’m sure you would have preferred they get bounced out by a more “deserving” team like the Mariners.

Re read the post. That wasn't a vent, that's someone that's clearly miserable and hates the entire make up of the team top to bottom. You know what I'd do if something made me that miserable? I wouldn't do that thing.

Can't even enjoy the small victories. Don't know that poster, but I'd wager most of his posts are of the same ilk.

Love the pitching staff, hate the approach at the plate, manager sucks - couldn't manage a game if his life depended on it, pitching coach is one of the best in ball.

Choking again in a big game, yes I cant enjoy that because that is what this team will do in the playoffs, would have thought that once a teams shows you who they are, pretty easy to figure out who they will be in the playoffs. A team that built for small ball but swings for the fences every at bat, you get that's dysfunctional?

My point is it is okay to be happy for the moments that are good lol if something happens next week in the playoffs that is worthy of being pissed off then be pissed off but they got themselves in the playoffs and it is pretty clear throughout baseball that you just need to get in and you have a chance. Do you ever get tired of being negative literally all the time? Like I said this season could have full on cratered. If we get the kind of season we expected from Vlad and Monoah we probably are fighting for a pennant. It is what it is.

And the first part of what I wrote? It’s okay to appreciate the small wins. There’s no need to be cynical over getting a wildcard position. We’ve seen plenty of flawed teams over the years make the WS (and even win it). Even the most perfect teams need all the luck they can get to win a WS.

I see that your sticking point is that they lack fundamentals… but I’m sure if you watch all 162 of other teams you’ll find similar takeaways as well. Even the Rays are susceptible to this.

This team has more wins than the Atlanta team that won the world series. Records mean nothing. As long as the pitching holds up and a couple of bats get hot, the Jays will be a scary team to face.

Yeah, exactly. I am probably the 2nd most critical poster on here next to Shaner. But, FFS, just enjoy the ride and be happy they got in.

The Phillies made it to the WS literally last season with a worse record then we have this season and played like way worse then we did coming down the stretch. Jays are actually a pretty dangerous playoff team with how good our pen and shortened rotation will be. Added in with the exceptional team defense and if we can get one or two bats hot each series the sky is the limit.

Chapman and Varsho hitting for power like this last week could be incredible. If our bats could just hit like their averages in the past that in itself would be game changing. I just have trouble believing in them. It sucks. It's like I just can't allow myself to be excited by them
