Seems like King, the starting pitcher tonight, is a tough customer? We need Gausman sharp tonight. He dummied the Yankees last time at Yankee Stadium back in April. I don’t want to go into a rubber match tomorrow with Cole on the mound for them. Take the series tonight.
I didn't realize they were stretching King out to a full starter's workload... up to 87 pitches last outing. It could be a tough one tonight.

Vlad discovers that when you carry too much weight and don't put enough effort into being a professional ballplayer it negatively affects your health and performance. He is most likely doing laps of the lockeroom bestowing this wondrous knowledge on his team mates as a newly converted fitness fanatic. Preach Vladman preach.

Vladdy's played the 2nd most games since 2020.

Must be inflation affecting the air density, damn Trudeau
Or his density.....ok, I'll stop there. Lol

Almost like MLB was afraid of the new dimensions benefitting the Jays, and so they sent dead balls to Toronto. You never hear that sharp crack of the batted ball anymore - it's more like a dead thud sound.

Listening to the radio the other day they were talking about Vlad and the down year. They did say something really interesting. They were talking about how much time he spends in the cages and that it could be part of the problem. They talked about him doing a couple hours before games and that hes in the cages after games often until 11:30 at night. They suggested he may be over training and may not realize he's fatiguing himself. It's a legit thought in my opinion. Doesn't play into the he's fat and lazy narrative though lol. I think he could actually be swinging himself out.

He'd be first if he lost a few pounds, though!
Lack of dedication hahaha

I still think there something nagging Gausman. And has been for awhile. Just not enough to sideline him. Just a wee bit off. Hopefully he can have a solid start.

If this is the case then you would have to wonder what role the coaching staff is playing in this. My guess is this is Vladdy doing his own regiment and the coaching staff is having a hands off approach as I doubt they would be instructing these kinds of hours. Either way it's problematic as having a hands off "let him sort it out himself" approach is probably not the best idea and encouraging this behaviour would also be ridiculous.

Yeah, the idea that he doesn't care or doesn't take the game seriously or something like that is absolutely ridiculous. He clearly works his ass off and is dedicated to a potentially detrimental degree. Anyone who saw him his first couple seasons and looks at him now and thinks he doesn't care is completely clueless.

I think he wants to be the guy so bad that it is hurting him. I hope he can step back a little bit. I believe he has a few "monster" seasons ahead. He oozes with talent.

There's an interesting video on Youtube about his unusual season

The video also point out he is only 24 something people often forget. He's younger than Joseph Woll.

Barring a late comeback by Oakland, the West teams will go 3-0 this afternoon. Big game tonight to keep them all in the rearviewmirror.

I think it’s one of those scenarios where that’s why he likes to do so they don’t stop him. If that is what he’s doing I think it’s on them to stop him. They need to limit his pre game cage time at the very least.

Yea he remains the youngest player on the team lol. Schneider is older than him. Might not be the case with Horwitz and Clemente. Haven’t checked since they can up. Problem is the other guys that are in Vlad’s class are all around his age as well and haven’t regressed. I’ll check out the vid later

Yeah but players are not all the same. Dahlin is probably the best prospect i've seen on defense in a long while and he took a few years to pan out and i don't think he has reached his prime yet not defensively anyway. Makar came in and dominated right away.
