Since this seems to be directed at me :

1) I live nowhere near Toronto and I hate the Toronto Maple Leafs more than any franchise in sports, so I'm not a part of 'this fanbase' as you're defining it.

2) I try to look at things in the bigger picture and not make reactionary judgements. And when I look at this roster on paper and how the team has been built and the moves that have been made over the past few years ... I simply don't have a problem with them. It appears to be pretty intelligent people making pretty intelligent decisions. Same deal with the manager, who is on a completely different level from the Montoyo insanity. The vast majority of what he does makes sense. His interviews are intelligent and make sense. But sports are weird. People are weird. Weird shit happens. Luck and chance happens. Injuries happen. If you compare the seasons of Davis Schneider vs. Vladimir Guerrero vs. what anyone would have expected in April ... holy shit.

And at some point, man. You put together a roster of good players and it's on them to perform. And they haven't, and they're going to have to shake things up this winter if they miss the playoffs.
