I know it's getting ahead of things a bit, but if they can finish off the sweep tomorrow and Oakland can steal one of the next two against Texas, the Jays would be far enough ahead that they would still be in a pool layoff spot even if they lost 3 of 4 to the Rangers.Nice win. Hopefully, they can win tomorrow as well.
Ya I was thinking the same thing. And if they take 3 from the Rangers they have an excellent shot at the playoffs.I know it's getting ahead of things a bit, but if they can finish off the sweep tomorrow and Oakland can steal one of the next two against Texas, the Jays would be far enough ahead that they would still be in a pool layoff spot even if they lost 3 of 4 to the Rangers.
Does Jeff Nelson know what a strike is?
He has stated in the past that he doest like Toronto. I'm glad he doing today's game and not tomorrow. Last thing Fagans needs is help from Nelson
It's why I was so shocked about yesterday. Maybe it happened so fast he forgot which team was which
No they certainly needed to cool him off during that bad stretch. I think the issue is when he came back into the lineup. He came back in like he started but was in and out. He was the only one consistently getting on base. That’s when it really seemed like a bad idea. Really only a few games but his bat needs to be in until he cools down.I find this stuff really interesting from a player development standpoint. Like... it's easy to say "Look how well he hit when he got back into the lineup... he obviously should have been in there all along!" But how much of his success is at least in part because they gave him some time off to work on things when he struggled instead of making him work through in a high-pressure situation?
I know hockey's different, but I remember going back and forth on it when the Leafs called Kadri up and he played really well and fans started the "See! He should have been up months ago!" But would he have been the same player without those months of working on things in the minors? It's probably impossible to know, but it's also not as simple as "X happened, so they should have done Y".
Is Eovaldi on a pitch count limit? Got pulled early.
It’s very funny that aiming for WC3 is the best possible playoff outcome. Not like any of the 4 AL Wild Card teams should inspire should inspire much confidence right now, though.
I can’t believe I’m saying this but it’d be nice if the Mariners started winning again
They've done ok against the Yankees and Rays, and they swept Boston last time they played. At least there's no Baltimore.Jays need to win as many as they can right now, because those last 15 games of the season against their own division will be tough for them, they've struggled all season against division rivals.
What!?I can’t believe I’m saying this but it’d be nice if the Mariners started winning again
