I think Houston will keep it together - too much talent and experience. But Texas looks extremely vulnerable. That series we have against them will be massive.
I hope so. It’d be great if the Jays got their act together and swept them.

Bassitt with another masterful pitching performance. Our pitching staff has been superb.

Yeah, Texas is the team to catch, especially with the Mariners having the tie breaker on us. One has to wonder why Davis and Ernie haven’t earned more playing time given their recent offence and struggles of players like Espinal, Biggio, Varsho, and Chapman.

Doesn’t surprise me though. Our confused manager says in one breath “we have lots of games left” and in the next “we have a short runway”. As confusing and bewildering as some of his decisions during games.

I don't see how you don't think both of those things are true. They have 28 games left. That's lots of games when you're only 2.5 games back and face the closest team to you 4 times. But it's also late enough that they don't have a lot of leeway to go on a losing streak. Meh.

It’s tough to keep saying the same thing over and over, but Jays need a long win streak. How about a sweep of this road trip? Just had a 3-3 homestand, that’s not near good enough at this time. We have to keep pleading and hoping they can do something till it’s mathematically impossible. Let’s. Go.
They didn't sweep Detroit, Oakland and KC, why would anyone expected things will be different this time?

I was hoping for at least a 4-2 homestand and hopefully 5-1. 3-3 wasn't good enough.

Sweep will be tough but 8-1 is definitely possible. I was looking at the Rockies lineup and it's the shits.

I just checked I am wrong, you are correct.

A sweep definitely should be obtainable. A minimum 5-1 is needed.

I wanted 5-1 on the homestand too, but we got 3-3. We keep wishing for this team to get really hot, but it just doesn't seem to be happening. Well, they will have to string a bunch of wins together now or we are toast. There is no next month anymore. it's now or never.

The next 9 games is the against the 3 worst teams in baseball. They need to do it now because after that is the 4 game series against the Rangers which could determine the wild card race.

I almost gave up. Thanks for that extra positive push bro. Youre right, need to push on. True Jay fan.

So true !!! Let's go Jays

Thanks, man. Can’t give up now. It’s very realistic they can pick up 2.5 games on Texas with 1 month to go. 9 games till the big 4 game set against them.

From my experience watching baseball i'd say usually 3 games behind per month you can realistically catch up no problem. It's when you fall below that threshold that it becomes problematic. Jays are definitely still in the race. Sweeping the Rockies would help a lot.

Blue Jays kind of have to sweep the next series.

I'd say minimum of 7-2 in the next 9 against Colorado/Oakland/KC.

They've just been unable to string wins together and then they absolutely have to right now. If they can, then they'll be in a great position if they can play well in the 4-game series against Texas immediately after.

Fans will complain just as much (or more) about the next guy no matter who he is.

Tonight was a screw-up but to me there have been very few games like this this season (certainly nothing compared to the near-daily idiocy of Montoyo) and the bullpen usage in particular has been really well handled by Schneider and his staff.

He's still one of the youngest managers in MLB and sometimes he's prone to galaxy-braining something and over-managing/over-thinking things and tonight was one of those nights. He managed to win the game in the 11th over managing to tie the game in the 9th.
Were you on board with bunting with Biggio? Because that was just one recent example of a terrible decision he made.

90 wins is still doable, tough but certainly not impossible. Will it be enough to earn a playoff berth?

Go at least 7-2 against the next 3 shitty teams, take 3 of 4 against Texas, and then 9-6 vs the AL East

92 wins. Might not be necessary but I think that should be the goal for now. The first two scenarios are a must, though.
Got to make hay in these next 3 series and do no worse than a split against TX.

The Yanks are classy enough to do them a favour
