Nearly all of his moves were gambles to some extent. What gambles?
Pete Walker is away from the team currently for his fathers funeral. He’s got some work to do with this group when he gets back.FFS.
How many fastballs Berrios gonna throw.
Change up? Breaking ball? curve? Hello?!
Is Pete Walker drinking during games? f***s he doing
I think he mentally checks out as soon as things start going bad for him. Watching him run to “cover” home plate after that last hit he gave up was weird. He almost got run over by the base runner and then he kinda stopped just after crossing the baseline and didn’t get into position. I don’t see things improving for him.
Any trade is a gamble. Teo was a clown that dogged it far too often. Bassit is still to early to tell, but he’s been pretty solid the past 3 seasons.Nearly all of his moves were gambles to some extent.
I think Varsho is a good player but the trade was an overpay.
Bassitt might have been the wrong pitcher to target.
The Teo trade looks decent in a vacuum but when looked at in the context of how he overhauled the roster it’s still a gamble that might not pay off.
The tipping pitches thing is a possibility. If any teams would have the book on him it would likely be AL Central teams. I think it’s more than that though. He implodes every time he starts getting hit. It isn’t 1 run innings he allows, he gives them up in bunches. He’s just incapable of pitching out of any trouble now and it looks like he knows it.But it’s not like he’s losing the strike zone or anything like Kikuchi when he was mentally collapsing, as an example.
He’s either really effective or teams are all over him smoking absolutely everything like they know exactly what’s coming. There’s no middle ground. And the stuff doesn’t really look any different.
I’m not sure they were good gambles though. Sometimes when you mess too much with the core chemistry/makeup of the roster, things can go awry, especially if the players you’re bringing in return aren’t elite.Any trade is a gamble. Schneider makes a lot of questionable movesPop struggles more against lefties so why bring him in? Cimber would be better.
This. I f***ing hate when people say who cares it’s early blah blah. That mentality will cost you a playoff spot. Wake up.Who cares if they lose out on the postseason by 1 game, because I guess it doesn't matter if they start the season strong or not.
This isn't football. 1-3 isn't end of the world and people shouldn't be overreacting to small sample sizes. Jays could go on a 7 game winning streak in the blink of an eye and everyone praising how good an offense we have. Baseball is a game of ebbs and flows.
But Berrios picking up right where he left off last year. This isn't football. 1-3 isn't end of the world and people shouldn't be overreacting to small sample sizes. Getting rid of lazy clowns like Teo and Lourdes isn’t messing with chemistry.I’m not sure they were good gambles though. Sometimes when you mess too much with the core chemistry/makeup of the roster, things can go awry, especially if the players you’re bringing in return aren’t elite.
