Cory Pronman just released his latest mock with The Athletic this morning.

Has us taking Reinbacher and notes “the league is convinced the Habs won’t take Michkov.”

The people he has talked to around the league are convinced it’s either Reinbacher or Leonard for us.

I don't mind trading down but I sure want an awesome prospect coming back along with their first if they have someone of interest. Who are the Flyers and Caps top prospect?

* 5
* Pitlick
* Rights to Gurianov
for
* 7 (Leonard or Reinbacher)
* Foerster

All of Leonard, Reinbacker, Forester are right handed shots. Something our age 25 and under needs. Foerster is 21 and close to NHL ready. He's got size and developing well.

Not saying I'm drooling to make that move but something I can see them doing.

That is one hell of a perch. You won't find many like that around anymore that species has been decimated in our local waters.

that's sad, mostly because as a child my dad would put small hooks on my line so I can catch a few if we didn't land any pickerel or bass.

We suffered all season to get 5th OV in a draft with a clear top 5 so that we could trade down and blow picks on Newhook. Kill me. This franchise is cursed.
I would be disappointed if out of this whole year we drafted a low impact player but I am always weary of the consensus. In 2015 there was a near consensus that McDavid, Eichel, Hanifin, Strome and Marner would go top-5. Yet if you look further back in the top-10, you have Werenski, Meier and Rantanen who turned out better than a few of those players who were consensus top-5.

I don't trust our scouting staff to find them. No interest in Michkov and trading down = my interest in this draft falling off a cliff. Cheers to another 2-way glorified grinder with the right karakter.

I don't know Foerster at all. What's his projection?

6’2, 195lbs. Lethal shot. Would be deadly on PP with Caufield. 20 goals in his AHL rookie season and 3 goals in 8 NHL games. Has shown decent defensive chops as well from time to time, could be a solid two-way player in short order.

Draft day is here. Vegas Cup run still irritates me as hell. Fresh expansion team wins and once almighty Habs reach cup final just once in three decades. just draft impact player, im tired to mediocrity
Either draft well or be super aggressive and don't settle for less than great. You can't do neither.

Btw I saw your other comment about not drafting Russians, I hope you'll come around if we get Michkov. It'll be great to have a star talent up front finally.

Who's the one who made the other look better? Smith or Leonard?

Or are they similar values?
People are high on Smith cause he has Zegras’ type of habilities where he can move the puck really well and create plays.

But I really like Leonard personally. He is a gamer. A scoring machine. A guy qho creates havoc and posession. And when its important he raises his game up.

If i had to pick between the two. It would be a f***in pain.

I want Michkov soo bad but if Kent is gonna be a p***y about it he better make them pay hand over first for it. Get a bidding war going and make it hurt bad. Because the second Michkov comes over it's going to hurt us bad. Especially if Leonard or Reinbacher or whoever are still 3rd line/pair.
