Charlie McAvoy has leaned out a lot. He looks bigger in the shoulders. Oscar Steen looks bigger in the shoulders as well. McAvoy is just a stud. Great on ice vision especially in the smaller group drills.

Very happy to see Oscar having a solid start to camp after last year.

Marchand has another gear. He's moving better than he was pre surgery and he's shooting every time he has the puck. Coyle is strong on his skates and kept up with Marchand.

Hampus is vocal on the ice and made a great toe save to pass it to Lysell who set up a goal down low. He's so smooth on his edges. No issues with his feet at least that I could see.

Linus is definitely healthy and moving well. He's solid.

I had no idea I was watching Zboril and Shattenkirk as a pair but every D man was engaged and playing hard.

There 100% is competition in camp and every single player brought it today imo.

I'll go back tomorrow if there is a session.

Thank You @sarge88 for the ride to and from my car. You rock and your knowledge of the game is fantastic.

Looking forward to the game tomorrow to see some of the line combos as well as special teams.

Is Zacha really 6'4"??

I’m not convinced Forbort here - if they can move him it can work

It’s a speculative lineup based on how they operate in the past and with Bergeron gone a veteran group makes sense to Monty
I suppose it's possible he gets claimed if put on waivers. But a Zboril-Shattenkirk bottom pair is ugly.

It may be ironic in a way that the nostalgia of signing Lucic for 1m, instead of going with Greer at 760k, might mean a Merkulov or Beecher start the year in the AHL. If they REALLY made a case for themselves I'm sure they can make the cap work... but I think with all things being relatively even, they are going to start the year with a lineup that banks cap space. Let the kids start in the AHL and who really shakes out come December AND create a tiny bit of space along the way.
