That is highly unlikely the final roster.

Those players may all be there but that's only 20 players they have room for a least 2 more.

Make way for Hienen and Chaisson
Thinking a younger forward makes the roster out of camp...those kids need a carrot or 2. Still need to earn it but thinking plans are to get someone in there somewhere.

I have no problem with that as long as said player has earned it.

When Sweeney started signing all those vets I got the impression they had already decided that they were gonna let the prospects develop for another year. After all, the lack of a 1st line C all but guarantees they are not legit contenders. What's the point of rushing players through the system .

Next season they will be in a good position to bounce back. They have a decent amount of cap space to sign a 1C and the prospects who look close this year should be ready . If they can get 3 ELC onto the roster next year they will be in a good position to continue competing for years to come.

They’re either overthinking this captaincy thing, or spreading out the announcements in order to stay in the headlines.

My sense is it’s the latter.
I'm kinda shocked the announcement didn't come before the jersey reveal. Seems like it would have been logical to showoff the new captain in the centennial gear and have the jersey with the C available immediately.

The 2020-21 season started on January 14th (COVID). Bergeron was named captain on January 7. So this isn't out of the ordinary.

I’m driving my daughter to the airport early on Saturday.

Planning a stop at Bagelsaurus, then hopefully camp.

Anyone know what the schedule is for Saturday?
Depending on the schedule I may go. We shall see once more details are released.

Woodstock!!!! Hopefully he's back to 100% health and can get back to his game from the season before last with the Pens. If he plays like that it will be a nice boost for the Bs.

Woodstock reminds me of PJ Axelsson- not the biggest/strongest guy but smart & can play up and down the lineup as needed. Teams need guys like that.

The Bs are going to need as much smarts as they can get after losing Bergy and Krech. My hope for Woodstock is that he continues his high-IQ play, brings over his increased physical play from his time with the Pens, and plays hungrier than he ever has. He'll be a regular and maybe even win some of his critics over if he does those things.

That line was On fire....and then the gamble on declining Nash concussion trade took place.

Thanks for posting Lady. I recall loving this line. Mix of everything. They jelled and just like that GONE.
I remember (when watching this line) thinking that Looch wasn't looking so slow. The guy behind us said "Nope...It was Krejci who was slow on Looch's other line".

I know it is years later and Looch isn't the same player as he was in 2011, BUT I can't help myself...I am psyched to see what he will bring. I am not really expecting many fights (but maybe some nice BIG Looch hits) but I know Milan will bring a BIG attitude and much leadership.

I can't wait.

Welcome to the Jungle
he has 9 points in 6 games so far in the KHL. He is pretty talented. He had a lot of high end tools. His biggest weakness here was his play away from the puck. He was close to being a game changer.
And when he was coming up, his two way play was a calling card if I remember correctly. It just did not show in Boston, and then it did not seem he had the humility to move to wing or grind out the changes. I will never know from behind the screen but he was a guy who I thought was going to figure it out. Studnicka and Spooner are the two forwards who have hurt the most recently. Oh well, maybe Merk, maybe Poitras maybe Zacha, Coyle and Geekie pleasantly surprise us.

Don't really think that's part of any plan.
The plan is to make the spots available to be won. They won't get it without being the best player, but I think the best plan is one or two guys forcing there way in from somewhere. May as well be the kids if they are ready and they aren't put in a position to stunt there growth.
Poitras is a guy they need to be careful with. Maybe he is ready, maybe he isn't; for me the number one thing is how he protects himself on the ice.
Merkulov, should be able to win a spot if he is playing his best two way game.
Beecher and Brown appear to be the primary candidates for 4C. I see Frederic there in some lineups, but I certainly hope Frederic is in the top 9. I see Freddy staying on the wing and again I give Brown a decided edge on this position as he was signed the first day and waivers and all of that. But if Beecher is hitting like a truck, winning faceoffs and impacting the advanced stats, I am pretty sure the Bruins would be ecstatic to put him on the roster.

No one should get there without earning it.

It's anyone's guess how effective Looch will be, but I know one thing for sure -- he'll be giving it everything he has in trying to make the team better and putting on a show for the Bs fans. I'm betting on him having a good year. I can't wait either. Have my 2010 Winter Classic Lucic jersey ready to put on for the Bs first game of the season.

I have hope that his love of Boston and the Bruins will rub off on the younger players.

We need him 10 minutes 2-3 on PP from October- April

Then in Soring 10 minutes to rip the skin off the faces of his Calgary buddies Tkachuk & Bennett if they meet up and replicate last year
