Don't really think that's part of any plan.
The plan is to make the spots available to be won. They won't get it without being the best player, but I think the best plan is one or two guys forcing there way in from somewhere. May as well be the kids if they are ready and they aren't put in a position to stunt there growth.
Poitras is a guy they need to be careful with. Maybe he is ready, maybe he isn't; for me the number one thing is how he protects himself on the ice.
Merkulov, should be able to win a spot if he is playing his best two way game.
Beecher and Brown appear to be the primary candidates for 4C. I see Frederic there in some lineups, but I certainly hope Frederic is in the top 9. I see Freddy staying on the wing and again I give Brown a decided edge on this position as he was signed the first day and waivers and all of that. But if Beecher is hitting like a truck, winning faceoffs and impacting the advanced stats, I am pretty sure the Bruins would be ecstatic to put him on the roster.
No one should get there without earning it.
