You guys don’t think Poitras gets at least a 10 game look? I haven’t been to camp, interested to hear if he looks ready at all during the camp sessions.
I been a few times including today and he appears to be skilled, in attack mode, and a step ahead - however, he’s young has options and getting stronger and working on the defensive side can only help

If he plays well tomorrow play him Tuesday & keep going

Beecher already looks like he should be the 4th line center - and you would be going with two guys never played from two who played over thousand games

The good part is Zacha & Coyle are good good and Frederic & Geekie & Boqvist can all play center

Just don’t screw him up because at 22 (I know it’s 3 years away) he could be very very good

If Poitras makes it

Marchand -- Zacha -- Pasta

JVR -- Poitras -- DeBrusk

Frederic -- Coyle -- Geekie

Lucic -- Beecher -- Lauko

I like this line up. Have some grit, speed and skill all around, also slits Coyle correctly as 3C not a top two, I normally want driven players in the line up but Coyle has only proven he can't be a top 6 forward.

Poitras should be playing in the World Junior championship this year, the Bruins can recall him for his 9 games following that. Maybe an injury will work out roster/cap space by then.

Regarding Poitras, they're building up his confidence and testing him with skilled players to make him hungry for next year and to give him teaching tools to work on from what they observe. Chances are he doesn't stick with the club this year but no harm giving him a deep look. Would he really be a difference maker on this roster and push them to another level? No. So why bother burning a year off an assets ELC? Just my opinion.

Two rookie centers seems a long shot but the back end is high end and the other 10F on your list has been playoff tested 9 going to Finals and/or on team last year

If you are going to do it this is probably the team

Poitras needs to play with skill and defensive ly in tune guys

If he’s staying put in best situation

Marchand - Poitras - DeBrusk

The kid can play with the big boys; Give him a shot. Doesn’t burn a year if it’s less than 10 games.

History is just so against Poitras making it. But it would be cool to be wrong and he's one of the very few guys to pull that off on this team in the last 20 years.
Bergy, Lucic, Kessel, Segiun, Pasta we’re all 18 so year younger than Poitras; Mac jumped into playoffs at 19 and no one thought he could; kids earned it so far; and this team needs a surprise kid right now.

Marchand - Poitras - DeBrusk is the only way I see it.

Putting him with Pasta is unnecessary pressure and discourages shooting the puck. I'd have Lauko - Zacha - Pasta as the next line of attack.

They can’t just call him up anytime. Once he goes down he’s down until his season ends.
They can’t just call him up anytime, a window opens up to be recalled to the NHL when a player is released to a tournament like the World junior championships, before he returns to his junior club. I could be completely wrong about his contract being able to still slide since he'll be in his "20th year" or however the NHL classifies it though.

That said, maybe Poitras over Greer.

You wouldn't want to take a hopeful skill top 6 guy and have him fill the role of a 4th liner just to give him NHL minutes.

Much better off letting him be "the guy" even if its against competition that may be less than her deserves at this point.

You don't want to take a guy that could be a Derek Roy and turn him into a Dan Paille by playing him 4th line with other ham and eggers

I do think Jaffe and Razor made a valid point on the podcast re Poitras…

He will probably be better served in the OHL for another year concentrating on looking for his own shot.

But you of course have to keep playing him as the competition ramps up as the preseason goes along. If he is still looking the part by the last preseason game you have an interesting choice to make.

But frankly out of Poitras and Lorhei, I think the latter has more chance to learn on the fly this season.

Hey look at all the center depth we have where we can put Coyle on the wing. J/k, I actually like this take. Those are the top 12 forwards I'm circling in on if Poitras can continue to elevate.
I just put the 6 best offensive forwards of this team

Not sure what Poitras gains playing in Junior again, I know he's young but if he can hang with NHL talent I see no reason to send him back.

If he could play in the AHL that would be a different conversation. I would even play Lorhei in the NHL.

Gives cap flexibility as well.

Just my view

I mean I think he could, but he'd need to be head and shoulders better than any other 3C option Boston has. I know we all want to see him get a shot (myself included) but historically it's just not how this management group operates.

I really noticed (in a good way) Regula in the first home game.
Maybe but out of Mitchell, Regula, Zboril, Shattenkirk, Lohrei and Walsh.... 4 of them aren't making the team. Only 1 of them is exempt from waivers.

It's been well over a decade since the Bruins where this desperate for a play maker center.

I think the kid has a very good shot if he finishes the preseason strong
