Vegas has infinite space - to me this deal makes it slightly more likely that they get Meier because it means that they can ship out a current player who is due salary next year in a Meier deal

Even without sending something out they should have space. I think they had 9.5 in deadline space and Barbashev's 2.25. Meier's 6. They could fit both. If they give up a good prospect here though that would make it a lot harder.

I think it depends on the return. They have the cap space but if they give up something good there they might not really have the assets and they were told they were out so they pivoted here.
