Who said it was Vegas all the way? My stance has always been that the Devils wouldn't f*** around and would have their max offer on the table early on. If San Jose didn't want to take it and kept shopping around it wasn't the best sign to me. Doesn't mean the Devils aren't getting him, but love how I'm getting called out here because I'm evaluating the situation with logic.

It isn't that crazy of a take. Vegas specifically opened cap room up for Meier, you know they're going to make an incredibly aggressive run if that's the case.

Definitely some positives. It won't be Carolina and we'll still have a few days left to try and add something small at least.
Going down to the wire and losing him to Carolina would have been worst case scenario.
