How much would you be willing to give Minnesota to use its last retention spot in a Meier deal just to screw over the Rangers and Kane?
I'm fine with the Rag's continuing to give up assets to acquire these older guys they can't resign. (I'm assuming they can't).

Bratt has played over 700 minutes 5v5 with Nico and Hughes. 30 minutes with Boq. Clearly highlighting the top 6, bottom 6 distinction.

Mercer has played about 1/3 of his time with Boq, but until this recent run, wasn't exactly setting the world on fire. This run has affirmed his spot on the top 6 with this team. Highly doubt we see much of him with Boq the rest of the way.

If Meier comes here, he is with Nico or Hughes.

Yes at some point the Devils would love to have a good 3rd line center so we can run more as a top 9 type of team, and maybe Mercer is eventually that guy, but right now, we have a clear top 6 bottom 6 distinction.
And he knew Meier would be with Nico or Jack, his point was that they have tried guys there like now with Palat making 6m and yet still they put him on the third to wallow with zero points in a seven goal game

I agree were a top-6 right now but its undeniable they clearly want that to be a top-9 and almost force poor lineups to do i sometimes. Meier would help against that and keep Palat in the top-6 on whatever line Meier isnt on I think

We have the team to win it all right here in front of us. We need Palat, Wood, Bastia, Hamilton, Graves and Sharangovich to play the boards, that's all.

I want the Cup bad but whatever comes out of this season I am good and will always be back, although they losing to the Rangers would be most unacceptable. Anyone including the Bruins can be beaten with our current roster. Goaltending and toughness will be necessary.

Oh wait a minute.

Doggo.

Park.

Doggos like to go for a walk in the park!

Welcome back!
That could be a schtick I wouldnt mind practicing, he did show some high energy when he was pumped but damn did those lows hit harder apparently

Id give up after the second losing streak though, i cant keep up that level of negativity.

Id like him back though, and odds are hes here already. Definitely not out in the open like my dumbass

I would suggest its @ndkjr70 but he seems too brass to be DevilDoggo, doggo was sweet

He's trying to force a rigid notion on a fluid situation. But until Devils get a competent 3rd line center, we are much more a top-6 type team then a top-9 type. The fact that Timo would undoubtedly play with Nico or Hughes highlights that.

But you and I both know thats his way of debating

The Devils are a top-6 working to be a top-9. Both of you were half right and neither wrong

Interesting. Has he contributed to management roles in the past or is this just an old boys club hire?
I think he’s strictly been a coach considering he’s only worked under pioli and lou with a minor stint in Washington

Insert shero?

I thought they would hire Shero to replace Poile several years ago.

I think that ship has sailed.

Outside of Brian Burke, you don't see many guys get a third chance at a GM job these days.

Lou has, but that's Lou.

Rutherford kind of has, in that he's now on his third not GM job but GM OR president of hockey ops job.

Burke has been a GM numerous times and now is on his second hockey ops president job.

I hate to be that guy but Meier or no Meier doesn’t make a difference. Sure he’s a nice player but the flaws on this team will not be masked by just another Swiss born player. I wish Fitz would get over this fetish of his. This is a hockey team. It’s a business. Not a friends slumber party. This team has somehow lucked its way into the record it has but the bus will come screeching to a halt when they face the Broadway Bullies in round 1. And hearing that Kane is all but a done deal across the Hudson is just a terrifying proposition. The Rangers will push us around and skate circles around us at the same time. Not a year to be buying and quite frankly I don’t see a buying year in the near future for us in this house of horrors division.

I was scrolling quickly and genuinely thought RangersDoggo came back at first lmao
