Fitz getting a cost controlled forward in the midst of negotiations with Bratt and Meier. Maybe I’m looking too much into it but seems positive. Means we’re letting some FAs walk (Wood)

Wood was never coming back. Just like Severson isn't. Tatar (f***ing pls), Haula, Graves are all maybes. You could potentially bring back all 3. Tatar and Haula shouldn't be hard. Keeping Graves might be rougher since he could price himself out.

Bodreau saying he preferred to play Lazar on RW, but can play C and take faceoffs. Calls him a tremendous character guy that finishes all the checks, but not a goal scorer. Says he'll be a perfect guy for NJ.
Nice to have the coaches’ input lol.

More I think about it the more I like it. Good 4C/W backup and get him for another 2 years for a mil. This is quite a good add. Maybe you can say it should've been like a 5th instead but I mean who really cares at that point.

Anything beyond the third round is already such a lottery ticket that I hardly think it matters. Unless you're looking to reload the organizational depth, those picks are almost always expendable in my mind.

Theoretically I think a 4th in 2024 is worth a 5th in 2023.

The only thing I don't like about it is that Lazar is a right shot.

Same, it's nice to have a guy you know you can relay on to plug holes. I know you want that 4th line able to score as well but you always lose someone if you go on a run

It'd be worse if he was a regular 4th liner but as an extra I wouldn't expect a 4th line extra to provide offense anyway.

Hoping for another bottom 6 physical forward and a depth blueline add, but can’t complain one bit thus far.

I'd rather get someone who can reliably score for the 3rd line as long as they're not a defensive blackhole (Rico pls). Not sure that's out there though. I don't think we need a D.

Philadelphia, Vancouver, and Pittsburgh ... a trio of WHAT IS YOU DOING this deadline season.

Toronto is another team that has made baffling choices. Don't they still have like 8 or 9 NHL defensemen on their roster right now? What happens if none of them get moved before the deadline?
