We have big bodies as tsn is hyping but are these big bodies soft ? I’d rather small fast players then big and soft. Unfortunately I know nothing about this team. I haven’t been active since before the pandemic and haven’t really gotten back into hockey in general

First pre-tournament game is in two days, get a look then.

I’ve never liked Zachary Bolduc.

Tries to play the cool card and has a side of cockiness to his game. He doesn’t have the versatile attributes that Nathan Gaucher possesses. And Zach can cry about that all he wants.

He originally screwed Rimouski over and went down to the USHL and then decided he didn’t like it and then hopped back into the Q.

Can’t get everything the way you want it, Seth Jarvis never made Team Canada, Hendrix Lapierre made Washington Capitals but not the World Juniors, among other guys.

Cry about it, there’s absolutely no discrimination. Quebecois Players make the team every year.

He’s playing the victim and I don’t respect that.

I see what you're doing and you're not fooling any of them.😅
:) TBH, I was being sincere. :)

P.S. I ONLY meant the Mods in the International Forum.

Re : Recent articles from the Montreal Journal.

We live in a victim culture. It's a shame but the story will fade with time.

Always easier to cry about people being unfair to you rather than looking in the mirror and thinking about what you did or what you need to work on.

Should be a good opportunity for these players to work harder and improve their overall skills but if this reaction is any indication there is very little chance they do that.

I’m from here, I will say that picking dach and bankier over Dumais and Bolduc is stupid but I don’t think they’re cut based on their language
I understand that Dumais is more an Anglophone than French as he grew up in the West Island of Montreal and lived in the USA a long time. So it has nothing do to with language. I would go with the "Stupid" decision as you said. But ignoring the fact that over the years the Frenchies have not been in a disadvantage is foolish and means that you live in denials. But who cares, it is what it is.

In any case, I don't agree with Bolduc going out in the press like this.

Quebec hockey system is broken. We produce less hockey players then Finland and have more of a population then Finland, obviously the Q is broken and they don’t seem to care and only cry foul.

The Q players have gotten better but still manage 1 or 2 players in the first round IF lucky. It’s been years like this , the head of hockey Quebec cry about it but call it discrimination , I call if bad management!!

I live in Quebec and I love my Quebec players. It’s very unfortunate that we have bad management

The Americans have a great system so does Finland, I say we in Quebec need to copy it or fall further behind

François Legault has made hockey development a key political priority and formed a task force to address lagging production of players, so hopefully the situation should be redressed. In Montréal in particular player production seems down, whereas in the regions things seem better

I’m worried this version of team Canada was built like a salary cap team. 2 good lines and 2 heavy lines salary cap version. Team USA has build a rather small defence but are extremely fast

This is a short tournament, fast is the name of the game. Nhl getting faster and faster and smaller.

Just because the team is big doesn't mean it is slow.

You can’t just have nimble finesse guys on defence. Team USA is going to be slaughtered in front of their net, especially on the penalty kill. When your sturdiest defender is Luke Hughes, you’d better hope you have the puck all game long.

That’s a huge word “slaughtered” I don’t think they will be , but I get your point.

Where is everyone??

By the way did anyone see that shootout goal by Finland 🇫🇮 on Sweden 🇸🇪? What a goal. Yes I know this has nothing to do with team Canada 🇨🇦 , but was to good to pass up

This board isn't what it used to be as far as the amount of traffic. It does get a bit more quiet at times. Doesn't help that Canada's lines seem relatively settled. Not much point in debating which players should play on what line when our top two lines make a lot of sense and the bottom two are full of guys that are generally interchangeable.

There'll be more to talk about after our pre-tourney games I assume.

Big and fast is better than small and fast. I'd have gone with a bit more skill in the Canadian forward group but some very good NHL teams have been succeeding in recent years with skill at the top and size in depth positions. Canada's defence looks well balanced. We'll see where things stand when the tournament rolls around. I'm angling to get a ticket to one of the preliminary round games myself, gold medal game to be determined.

He missed though, but would have been a crazy goal
