United is the biggest name in the epl, their best player in history walked to madrid.

The last balon dor winner for Liverpool left to madrid.

One of Chelsea’s best players in their history walked to madrid.

One of Spurs’ best players walked to madrid and became an all time great.

There’s a pattern lol madrid is the biggest club in the game how is this a discussion?
Read what I wrote.

If it's true that Kane is open to Bayern I can actually see it happening this summer. Spurs don't necessarily need to buy a direct replacement when Son/Richarlison can play up top.

Mike Verweij from that country who speaks Dutch says that Timber to Arsenal will be negotiated to be around 45 million Euros.
0% chance Kane is sold this summer. If I am wrong it's because the bid was crazy - $150m or more. Levy would rather let him walk next summer.
I saw that report (where he is straight up not for sale) and honestly what Spurs is doing - if Kane truly wants to leave - is creating a Mbappe situation 2.0 where there is a significant chance he might leave as a free. That will be hilarious and so Spursian if they demand 150 million for Kane, a club offers 120 million, he doesn't get sold because it is too expensive, and then leaves on a free next summer.

Just because they don't want to spend more on a player doesn't mean they're poor...

I'm not saying that, but they're spending right now is limited via the current ownership and UEFA's financial regulations.
Again, that is UEFA FFP, but that doesn't mean they are poor as a club. If they wanted to, I bet they have pure cash to buy Mbappe straight out from PSG.

Nope. This has been covered before. United went over the budget last summer by the Glazers using the club's credit card. There's no straight up cash because the Glazers have fleeced them.

I saw a rumor today from one of those stupid sites my phone forwards in the new feed. I forget the club, pretty sure it was Liverpool, was rumored to have an agreed fee with Madrid for Valverde. If true it’s one of those possibilities I’d been alluding to and a mistake by Madrid.

I think it would be interesting to actually have a way to identify which club is bigger. There are parts of the world where Madrid is certainly not bigger (Scandinavia, Australia) but there are others where Real Madrid certainly is the bigger club.

I do think the prestige of Real Madrid is still a class higher, but being in the EPL is desirable for a lot of players.

I mean, they wanted a bidding war and they've got one. Arsenal at this point can counter with another offer, or West Ham can take City's differently structured (i.e., better) offer. Some Arsenal I've seen out there have convinced themselves into thinking Rice only wants Arsenal, but I don't really think that's the case.

Or we can do it all over again.

I think if both Arsenal and City agreed a fee with West Ham, then it sounds like he prefers Arsenal. But if West Ham expects this to turn into a bidding war for over 100M, then I'll pass. Would love to have Rice, but he's not worth that much. Partey was a better midfielder than him last year, and we could find a backup for a third of that price to cover injuries behind him.

If you think Partey is a better player then I don’t know what to tell you. You must be furious they’re even bothering, you already have Partey.

Before he got injured on international duty and played through it over the last ~8 games, Partey was one of the best midfielders in the league and a huge reason that Arsenal were top of the league. Partey is getting older, so it makes perfect sense to replace him with Rice who fits the age of the core squad. Rice could even be the better player this season, but he wasn't last season.

Two things here:

1. Rice is absolutely better than Partey.
2. You want to keep the guy that was investigated for multiple cases of rape???

1) He's not. You can tell me it's arguable, but Partey was better this past season. I'd rather have Rice over the next 2-5 years for sure.

2) He's still not been charged with anything. I'd rather not have a player linked with that, but there is not definitive evidence that he's guilty. He said / she said cases like that suck, but I'll defer to the legal process. Also, Spurs were negotiating for Bissouma while he was under investigation.
