I’m not sure if Poch is seeking to replicate the Spurs system at Chelsea or not, but if he is, the squad still needs a pure 6 and a wide AM who can drop into MF to fill the Eriksen role. Ziyech in theory could have fit but he sucks.

Mount would have probably played that role but he’s gone.

There have been some links to Szob (Vivell’s interest has been noted for a while), Wirtz, Kudus most notably. Wirtz has been linked since 2021.

I don’t think Caicedo’s a 6 in the same mold of what Dier used to do. And Enzo’s just not good in recovery if Caicedo is pressing aggresively and gets beaten. I still don’t really know what would better suit Enzo/ the team. I feel like there may be situations where you can live with a two man MF of Enzo/Caicedo but there might be games where you don’t feel confident with that pair, especially considering Poch’s FBs push so high.

So I feel like for squad balance, whether or not the 6 we sign is an out and out starter weekly, we just kind of need one for the 18

Enzo would be best as 8 or 10. Just needs needs cover

I generally agree with you here, but I would just say the bolded probably isn’t the case. I think that’s taking a negotiation stance to help them ensure they get top dollar. I also think it would be the highest fee ever, just eclipsing Neymar, and it’s intentional because of that.

Also, I think a total outlay for Mbappe at 250 million when you factor in what his wages would be is probably close to 700 million by the end of his first contract. The question then becomes do sponsorships and merchandising make up for that?

Ok, I'm being absurd just for conversation sake...
I just don't get sports and their massive salaries for one or two players. So only massive market teams can bring them on, but even so, there is only so much money they bring in and they will sign other players outside of him in support or else he's not going to be as effective. How can you ever justify the production to cost. I admit I'm near completely ignorant on how sports absurd sport contracts pay for themselves. Then with all the illegal behind the scenes stuff on top of it I really don't know or ever care to figure it out.
I wonder what the discontent is for players that make a tenth of his wages on the same team.

Guess I'm just saying without saying it, I enjoy a good match in the scottish premiership say compared to a Ligue 1 PSG match -at a fraction of the cost of clubs. Actually, I enjoy watching PSG look terrible and cost so much money at the same time...

Also, it'd be nice if a lower club actually kept a top-tier talent they luck out with and see that club be dominant and so forth... but they just leave to a big club and that is that... eh...

Who me? I was a massive aguero fan... something about that guy I loved his game... in a way I just loved Kovalev... stayed for KDB... but I like the Rangers too. Barca I have to follow because my brothers in law live in spain (madrid but they hate real)... I have a few favorite players on quite a few clubs I like but I don't like the club in general. Yeah, I like City... KDB mesmorizes me with his crosses.. I like Foden too, if he left I'd watch him where he went. I'm all over with football... I watch City but like I said in an older post... hardly a die-hard City fan... I'm not a fan of football in that way... and I watch (or at least have on a dozen or so games a week)... I love a good squad of footballers I just dislike it costing hundreds of millions of dollars...

I didn’t avoid anything. I wasn’t aware that I had to discuss Mount when discussing Mbappe. Furthermore, if I recall correctly, I commented on Mount over a month back. On top of that, I’d say I generally comment on how much gets spent on guys who are entering the last year of their contract. For me, generally speaking from memory, clubs overpay for players with one year left.

Doku? He has been on LFC radar since Klopp joined when he was 15 years old. Since then, he has been injury prone and with little finition. Kind of like a belgium Adama Traoré, he can run the field and pass 4 or 5 guys just to make a poor cross or miss his shot.

I saw the Doku rumors. I am not a fan. Would have signed Barcola. Don’t know what Doku does for them. They were also linked with Lavia today and I don’t know what he does for them either. Club has no plan whatsoever

Yeah it's Doku.
He's been red hot the last month or so to close out the season. Downright spectacular and unstoppable.
First time with Rennes, he's been health and productive for more than 2-3 games.
If Rennes manages to sell him using that timeframe, they should jump on it.
He's an awesome player if healthy, but first productive month in 3 years is not cutting it.

He still mostly plays on the right? I mean it’s tough to get a guy to come in who is good and willing to back up Salah, but this at best is a dice roll
