Transfer: 2023 Summer Transfer Window - Open Window Edition

When has this not been the Chelsea way? Sometimes they just fall upwards

Either way I guess they don’t need those “serious sales” in advance
You think they can spend another ~£1 billion over the next 3 windows like they just did without making any sales? Interesting, as like a week ago you were banging on about how they were already in violation of FFP and couldn't buy Caicedo let alone Caicedo and Lavia.

That’s the thing about falling upwards though. You can spend millions on lotto tickets; but you only need one to hit. We’ve seen this all with Chelsea before
This isn't a video game. They aren't failing upwards they're failing into mid table or lower. Buying players isn't going to save them anymore. The team doesn't know how to play football and there's no transfer solution to that. The longer they keep buying players as solutions, the worse it will get.

I didn’t saying buying players will save them. I’m saying that they are going to try anyway

Todd is going to sneak in whatever he can this year before the loop hole is closed. You already tried to sign Olise without any other sales. Barcola links still there. So yeah I think y’all are going to keep shooting because I don’t think Todd cares about FFP or not. Did the same thing with the Dodgers and got slapped on the wrist. It will happen again

It’s too late because the players they already bought are too young for that ever to work. And they amortized the fees of all these younger players and stretched them out for so long that they can’t just give up on their recent buys. It doesn’t matter if they buy three great players anymore. That will not fix their team. The rest of them need work on the training ground. What makes a winning team is years of work on the training ground, then you get new players and bring them into what’s there, that’s not what happened here.

I don’t think any of this wrong. I’m saying Todd doesn’t care

That guy is VERY fast and talented. I will follow him at Lyon.

Exactly!!
To make a radical turnover you sign 4 or 5 new first team player per year max. In two or three years you have a full new team. What Chelsea did is criminal. 22 or so new players in one calendar year. This is way too radical to bring any sucess. The problem is also that Chelsea signed everybody for 8+ years, if they failed, it could hurt them for a long time.

Todd and his new regime think they’re the smartest dudes in the room. They might eventually pay off on some prospects they bought but some of it is going to be a loss

This is genuinely amazing, what position do they need now?

You've got think there's a number of football geeks in the organization who must want to kill themselves over how the organization conducts its business.

Not very likely IMO
Nothing I've seen from him tells me he's going to better than average.
Im not expert about him, but I'm confident in Ajax's abilities. They managed to make a profit on Alvarez. From what I've read he's been playing as LB? He's a cb so maybe he will be better for Ajax.

Fabrizio says Arsenal wants Fresneda but no official bids and I guess it is because we need to sell before buying anybody else. Romano also mentioned a potential deal could be as low as 10 to 15 million Euros. Porto going in for him as well.

I’m still hoping we go for him, but I think we’re out as Cancelo is almost done. Wouldn’t want him to go to Porto though and that is surprising considering they have Joao Mario.

Not only does he not care, this is the intention. When he bought the Dodgers, they broke financial rules of baseball and paid a fine. And then they went to three World Series in five years. They just don’t care about the rules and they think the penalties won’t offset their view that they will eventually win and increase the value of the team like they did with the Dodgers.

Shame they haven’t targeted any of our players. Always good for the competent regimes when new dumb-money hits the scene.
