You guys have no idea how shit the Chinese league is to say the Saudi league is more obscure than that.

And if Messi went to the MLS it would have a huge impact in the development of soccer in North America. Like how Gretzky had a huge impact for hockey in California and how Beckham legitimized MLS as a league.

Enh, I said arguably and the argument is a lot more high profile players have gone to the Chinese league in recent years. It's about profile not quality, never watched a game in either and don't particularly intend to, so no, I have no idea

I don't want to get into the weeds, but there's an argument to be made that it could help develop Saudi football as well. But I think there's more impact in the long run with MLS... but it's not a real argument I want to get into.

I have a feeling Messi is a lot closer Saudi Arabia than I thought he'd be. That said there's still plenty of pull for him to return to Barcelona. Whether that's the best for the club or not, I'm not so sure.

And in other news. Buquets will be leaving the club this Summer when his contract is up.

At this point, if Messi has no current intention to play in Saudi Arabia, just come out and say you want to stay in Europe and stay fit for Copa. The speculation is crazy. Personally, I'm 90-10 that he's going to Saudia Arabia. And it would be a goddamn shame. From best player at the WC to Saudi Arabia in six months would be so gross.

Why should he come out and say anything? Just to appease you? I always love the idea that people of whatever degree of fame should come out and make statements on anything and everything.

Spin doctor at it again.

If Messi goes to play now in SA it's a huge shame, full stop, and a stain on his legacy. As it was with him not paying taxes. At least Ronaldo waited until he wasn't the best player in the world anymore.

News flash, Messi isn't the best player in the World anymore and if you have a problem with him playing in Saudi Arabia then it should be a problem regardless of whether or not he's the best player in the World. Oh, and LOL at the taxes bit coming from Xabi Alonso's big fan.

I do not agree with Ronaldo going to Saudi either.

And I'm sure you posted as many words at that time as well. Ditto for when the news broke about him admitting he raped someone.

If Messi had any honor he'd just go play in Argentina after Europe. But no, it's always the f***ing money and the brand.

If you had any honor you wouldn't have posted this. Only question is, what's your excuse?

Beckham legitimized MLS as a league.

LOLWUT?

the gravitational pull of soccer in North America upwards has increased the profile of MLS more than anything Beckham did. If anything, all he did was really just juice revenues for a bit at the ticket booth.

That's a different discussion.

An argument could be made that Saudia Arabia develops more talent on a per capita basis than USA.........but its not a real argument I want to get into

The Messi fanboys are out in full force. Soon to be in shambles.

This isn't about me at all. I'm not saying that Messi has to do anything for me. But how is this of any use to him or anybody, really?

Really is funny seeing his fans scrambling to save the face of the little humble boy from Argentina who just wants to put his head down and play football sportswash for KSA. At least we always knew Ronaldo was douchebag of the highest order.

So you think the likes of Landon Donovan and NO DP rule would have led to the commercial growth, multiple expansions and increased competitiveness of the league?

I know it'll be difficult, but please demonstrate how I've remotely defended Messi in the post you quoted apart from saying he shouldn't make a public statement right now despite your stupid assertation to the contrary.

Bringing up Ronaldo to Scandale du Jour is a crock of shit meant to deflect. You know this. Or maybe you have so much brain rot from your Barca fandom you can't make the difference.

LOL. Good one. No, it's calling out him for his probably hypocrisy in this instance. So wrong, again.

There is zero hypocrisy in what he said. The only reason you brought this up to him is that he's a Real fan and you can't handle a Real fan sending some very real, very justified criticism towards your sellout of a hero.

Nobody would be daft enough to defend Messi going to KSA on its own merits. But it's very obvious what you're doing.

to be fair, didn't we already all know Ronaldo was a shit? Isn't part of his deal that he's a complete ego maniac? I don't have a problem with it... but I think we kinda already knew.

Messi might be... but the smile and being a pint sized kinda gives everyone the warm and fuzzies we don't get with Ronaldo right?

Wow, you've really gone full dipshit because I called out your stupid posts for what they were, to which you had no reply, have been unable to demonstrate what you've accused me of and now are sounding as though in your free time from running your pillow company you've got some reports you'd like me to consider.

I'm simply asking the question, did he go to these lengths when it came to Ronaldo? If not, that is hypocrisy.

I think the league would be about where they are now. Which is mediocre, but starting to develop some talent that's able to go to Europe and do something. I think some owners would be a little lighter in the purse, as they were able to sell out a lot more tickets that they would not have otherwise. So, I mean, sure, franchise values are up.

But how much of that is due to more interest and eyeballs on the sport and more likely, an idea that it could continue to grow as European football has grown in viewership by sponsors, and how much of that is due to the LA Galaxy having Beckham... I would say more the former than the latter.

Why don't you actually check before lobbing the accusation? Surely, it can't be because you're trying to deflect from Messi? No, it has to be something else. The plot thickens. Pathetic. It's a long flight from Wisconsin to KSA. Hope you packed your toothpaste.

I didn't lob an accusation. As for the rest of it, I'm happy with my pillow and 2020 election result.

Going with the 'just asking questions' defense. :biglaugh:Why didn't you check then before 'just asking the question'. Maybe you could find the answer if you'd check, genius.

And also I have no idea as to what you're talking about when it comes to pillows and election results. Are you mentally ill?

Well it should be easy for him to confirm. Kind of funny how you're going on about it and you don't have any idea about it.

Actually, you are, as your posts demonstrate. I mean I get it, I called you out for some stupid posts and you have zero to come back with.

We're getting really close to idiot bingo.

1. 'Just asking questions'
2. Ask someone else to do the work for you when 'just asking questions'
3. Pillows and 2020 elections (??????????????????????)

What are four and five going to be?

If you think it's mediocre now then what makes you think people would've had any interest prior to Beckham joining? Beckham showed the general North American population that a player of his reputation was willing to play in MLS and that led to other European players joining which grew more interest and revenue for the league to expand to where it's at now.

Again no Beckham = no DP rule.
