I don't agree with this. Had he won more games the last two years (which was a reasonable expectation) he's still be employed.

His cousin is a big fan like us, she could sway him I think
Felger: weeeeeeeeeee, the GM is from Fall River! Hometown hero...weeeeeeee

Let’s just be done with it and make Cora next. Clean slate next season would be refreshing.

If there's a new GM who wants his own coach, so be it. But I wouldn't do it for the sake of doing it. Cora is a good manager. Is it a "change of scenery" situation? It certainly wouldn't take long for another team would snatch him up immediately.

So why make your life even more difficult? Replacing Cora wouldn't be easy at all. I have never read any name at all. The only names who'd come up are some bench managers from successful teams like Tampa, Atlanta and LA. The only one I could see being a legitimate name is Kevin Cash. He's already established, has a past with the Red Sox and might be gettable.

How is Cora good manager?

He did why the owners asked him to do. Just like Dombrowski did. It was clownshoes when they pretended he went rogue and signed Sale to that deal as if Henry didn’t sign off on it. It’s f***ing bonkers that people would buy into their spin.
Maybe his hands were tied, maybe he was just doing the bidding of clown show ownership. I don’t dispute it; likely we will never know. That said, the ship took on lots of water while he was in charge and I never really understood what he supposedly brought to the table. I am not sorry to see him go.

cora as a GM is not happening. conventional big market GM please. No more half measures or experiments. Just build a big league pitching staff like the WS days

I don't really have a problem with Cora but I also don't really get the idea that he's untouchable. He seems very comfortable talking about all this and that he'll be managing the team next year. Maybe he deserves/commands this level of respect in the organization. Just seems a bit odd. Like he's running the show from the field manager position.

John Farrell won a WS too. Hire a president of baseball and let that person decide on Cora.

Meh Bloom did just did the bidding of Henry & Co. They'll now go out and find someone else to do the same crap and fire them in a few years too.

Would lack of executing baseball plays fall on Cora as the coach?

Some of it yes but it is my understanding that the basics aren't as emphasized as much at lower levels as they used to be.

Cora left Barraclough in to throw the team into a September tailspin so that Chaim Bloom would get fired and he'd steal his job

Blooms comments and actions at the deadline sealed his fate. He pretty much asked to be the fall guy

His statements directly after the deadline were weird. He basically acknowledged that they didn't believe the team was good enough to make the post-season, but at the same time refused to sell off pieces. There were so many (serious) rumors floating around at the time: Paxton, Verdugo, Duvall, Turner, etc. pp
After the deadline it was reported they came very close to dealing JT to Miami. Now we hear Verdugo to the Astros was apparently close as well.

It seems to me like Carrabis is on to something that it's difficult to get a deal done with Bloom and maybe some other GMs shy away and rather take another route. See Dombrowski, who rather traded for someone else. He probably had little faith in getting something done with Bloom.

Dombrowski got absolutely dominated by Bloom in the trade they made with one another

Reyes just cost them 5 runs
