He likely took it too far in his punishment and he created the dysfunction by hiring a DC as an OC but you still can’t have your players seeking outside help in the middle of the season.

The mature thing for Bill to do would to allow for more communication between he and Mac so they can work thru it internally, but I think he’s probably too stubborn for that, or Mac was afraid to ask him for help, or the solution they came up with internally sucked idk.

Either way it’s dysfunctional at many levels.
It's clear Mac was never Bills guy. It's unfortunate.

Agreed. Mac was Robert's choice while Bill wanted to draft Zaven Collins or trade back for Darrisaw. If I recall correctly, Chris Gaspard heard a lot of noise from Foxboro that Bill was high on Zaven Collins as well as him showing interest in later rounds for QBs like Kyle Trask, Kellen Mond, and Davis Mills.

There was even some rumors that Bill wanted to take Barmore in the 1st round.

I thought Jayden Daniels looked the best out of every QB in college this season. My worry is that he had 2 top tier NFL receivers on his team at LSU so who knows if he’ll be able to make NFL throws without the same level of separation from his receivers.

This draft now has Olumuyiwa Fashanu or Joe Alt written all over it. If Kraft even thinks about keeping Belichick because he beat two terrible Steelers and Broncos teams when the Patriots were already 3-11 I will lose my mind.
Stroud and Young couldn’t have had better situations in college or receivers. 1 is complete trash and the other is a better pro than he was a college QB.

I’ve been skeptical on Daniel’s as a pro but his results speak for himself and if the scouts deem him too pick worthy it checks out. Maye and Williams had just as good WRs and played against weaker teams.

I’m skeptical about Daniels too. He has elite athletic abilities, faster than any QB in this draft. The kid can use his legs to make plays. But he puts himself in vulnerable positions when he does. I read he throws the long ball with great accuracy but his accuracy is shaky in the short game.

You just never know with these college QB’s. It’s always a gamble. Just look at the past 4 years.

In retrospect he was right about that.

He was probably prepared to go into 2022 for another year of Cam and give Stidham a chance to develop, then look for the next long term QB the following offseason. 2022 was a bad QB draft, though they'd probably have had a pick in a spot to take Pickett if they wanted him, or could've made a trade or FA signing. But Kraft definitely pushed for Mac as the franchise guy to market, which pressured Bill to cut Cam and name him #1.

Mac proved something in his rookie year, but instead of building around Mac in his 2nd season, Bill went insane. Lost a year of development by all the players and Mac and Co suffered. Then comes in this year with nothing of substance with the WR core except Bourne. Got rid of Mac's favorite receiver. No O-line and what did he expect. But Mac in the doghouse for asking for advice to Bills bestie Saban, and the relationship was fractured beyond repair. It's embarrassing at Bills big Ole age he's still doing this.

I hope we finally move on and start fresh. This shtick has gotten old.

If they win out. They will best case have the 7th pick. This will also allow Bill to sweet talk sleepy Bob into keeping his job. No top GM is going to come here to in reality work for Bill ( think how the Red Sox search went). No doubt at 7 he trades down. Closest I could get on trade calc was with Arizona ( 16/34/69). God forbid they end up in the nine hole. That spot will not drive a trade down. That spot will either get you the top ranked Edge( Bill will say he compares to Willie ) or top ranked DT ( Bill will compare him to Vince ). Been a Pats fan for over 50 years. Seen the good and the bad. Team needs a HARD reset. Let Bill chase Shula in a different city.

Hell baby
lol we killed the Russell Wilson era Broncos

He’s hitting the pine and a release with a significant dead cap charge is expected this offseason

Who is the next Russell Wilson?

And if you’re the Patriots, do you consider getting involved with him?

I stay away. Far, far away.

These guys rarely work out.

As scary as the prospect of finding the next guy in the draft is, I’ll take it over mortgaging the future for the next washed up veteran.

If Russ wants to take 1 yr 5 mill then sure, outside of that hell no
Seeing as though the Broncos will be paying him 39m next season I’d assume Wilson signs a one year deal for vet minimum. Go to a team with some offensive weapons in place, have a good season statistically and get his value back up. Raiders & Falcons make sense.

I doubt Bill can sweet talk Bob Kraft at this point. Especially with Jonathan there in his dad's ear reminding him of all of Bill's mistakes. At best, Bill is going to get traded for picks in the offseason. At worst, Bill and Bob are going to go to court after the Krafts fire him so Bill can get his money.

If Wilson wants to take a pay cut? Sure. I would live with a season of Russell Wilson. He's done okay this season. Not great, but not terrible. He's matching Mahomes with his stats, so if you can put enough around Wilson to supplement him, then the Pats could have something. Especially if they go with Marvin Harrison Jr. Outside of that...no. I would rather take a chance on Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, or Michael Penix Jr than Russell Wilson if Wilson is asking for real money. Ideally? I would rather throw assets to get Kyler Murray than Russell Wilson. But I could live with Russell Wilson under center for a bridge season.

Wouldn’t be the worst idea to bring in Wilson at the vet minimum for one year, draft Daniels at 4 and have him backup Russ for a season. Use some cap space on a legit WR & beef up the o-line.

Lots of blame to go around, but I'm not sure what Mac proved.

He beat a bunch of shitty teams, and won a game where he threw 3 passes

Book was out on him in the second half of the season, and its carried over to his next two seasons.

Sure he was done no favors with Patricia and Judge, but at the end of the day, he's made the same mistakes for 2.5 seasons and 3 different coordinators. At some point it's the player.

Bill's a petty ass motherf***er to get mad over that. OH NOES, HOW DARE SOMEONE GO OUTSIDE OF THE HALLOWED HALLS OF BELICHICK FOR ADVICE. f*** off, Bill.

Bob Kraft has his mind made up. He wants no part in Bill winning and is most likely furious with the fact that Bill is going to put the Patriots in the worst case scenario when it comes to the draft. Thankfully the Patriots will hurdle down to earth against the Bills and the Jets with Kraft giving Bill his pink slip after the season finishes.
What’s your take on Mayfield as a FA here
