Pats can beat Jets and end up 5-7 spot
And that could be the worst thing to happen to the franchise since they let Brady walk away. Kraft might not have the balls to fire Bill if they finish with 5 wins and continue to show obvious signs of improvement since the QB change.

If Bill convinces Kraft that Mac was the problem, they'll trade Mac and act like everything else is dandy.

Watching the Raiders under Pierce it's hilarious just how bad a HC McDaniels is.
I still don't get it, there were years when he was a top candidate and refused to take any jobs. After failing in Denver he really had one more chance as a head coach so he had to find the right fit. Then after all that selectiveness he decides to take the Raiders, who were a mess with a disaster of an owner and in a rough division where they couldn't likely compete? Self sabotage, and he failed miserably again.

Even with the question marks at QB, he should've taken that Colts job that he backed out on.

Yep.

And Mac wasn't  the problem. He added to the pproblem, but they didn't invest in him. Bill has had him on his shitlist after Mac dared to ask for advice from Nickk Saban, thr horror!

Bill did Mac wrong. And not getting talented players on this team, that's on Bill. But if they deflect the blame all to Mac, this city will believe it, have Bill stay a few more years and stare into the abyss of mediocrity because he's a stubborn f***.

Bill wants to win because he’s after Shula.

The players aren’t interested in tanking because they're playing for roster spots and contracts (here or elsewhere).

Not sure how the Krafts feel about tanking. I’m sure they want the best possible players coming in next season, but I’m also sure that they want the almost weekly public humiliation to stop. I can’t remember the last time the camera didn’t put Bob Kraft and Jonathan on TV at least once during a game they’ve attended.

Bill is not going to convince Bob of anything. That relationship, at least professionally, is broken. If Bill were coming back next year, Bob Kraft would have said something before now rather than let Belichick twist in the wind for most of the season.

I’ve already moved on and am dying to know who the next GM is going to be, and what his strategy will be going forward.

With how some of the qbs are ending the season, McCaffrey should be the first non qb to win mvp since Adrian Peterson

It's a real conundrum with Belichick. I don't want him fired as coach but if he was just the gm he would have been fired already and you're probably not going to get him to agree to let someone come from the outside and be the gm. Is Kraft going to eat 25 million to fire him and actually go out and get a qualified coach for the money they cost? Would bringing in a real gm who has a pulse for how to build an offense while trying to keep some continuation with Mayo as head coach and Steve Belichick as dc work?

If they win one of thier last 2( high probability) they end up with 5 wins. This would put them in the 6 slot ( with a probable coin flip with 2 other teams). Could pick 6. Could pick 8. Bottom line Bill pushes the Mac stinks narrative and the injury narrative. Kraft falls asleep mid conversation. Bang Bill and staff run it back. Final dagger is Bill trades down twice in first round ( to accumulate third round picks). Then drafts 3 defensive players and 2 special team players with 5 of his first 6 picks. The Tankathon is dead.

I need to watch Jayden Daniels film, lots of hype. Would love to somehow some way nab Brock Bowers too. He & Henry would give this teams 2 solid TE’s

Maybe the tankathon is dead, but I can’t see the Kraft family taking Belichick back. THIS year was Bill’s ‘give me another chance’ year. After 2020; the collapse at the end of 2021 (lost 4 of final 5 including playoffs); the debacle that was last season; and this season… ANYONE would fire the architect of this team. We’re four seasons into the 2020s, and it’s absolutely time to move in a different direction. Even the Krafts have to admit they’ve given Bill more than a fair shot to rebuild. Most coaches get four years and often start with less than Belichick got to work with.

They know the buck stops with Bill and he won’t be able to sweet-talk his way out of this.

He’s done.

I hope you are right. Agree he is cooked. Sadly so is Kraft and his kids just keep shoving that silver spoon in their mouth.

I don’t really blame him for getting upset over that, going behind your HC back to ask for outside help is dysfunctional.

Bill's a petty ass motherf***er to get mad over that. OH NOES, HOW DARE SOMEONE GO OUTSIDE OF THE HALLOWED HALLS OF BELICHICK FOR ADVICE. f*** off, Bill.

Bob Kraft has his mind made up. He wants no part in Bill winning and is most likely furious with the fact that Bill is going to put the Patriots in the worst case scenario when it comes to the draft. Thankfully the Patriots will hurdle down to earth against the Bills and the Jets with Kraft giving Bill his pink slip after the season finishes.

I still think Bill had a hand in sabotaging McDaniels from accepting the Colts gig.

They probably will hurdle down to earth against the Bills but they aren't losing to the Jets. Not even Mac Jones lost to the Jets.

I told y'all Zay Flowers was the real deal.
Yup. He was a no brainer. Putting up big numbers on a terrible BC team who had a god awful Oline and tetrrible QB in Jurkovec. I am wrong about plenty of stuff but glad I was right on Zay Flowers. Probably should have been drafted higher.

I thought Jayden Daniels looked the best out of every QB in college this season. My worry is that he had 2 top tier NFL receivers on his team at LSU so who knows if he’ll be able to make NFL throws without the same level of separation from his receivers.

This draft now has Olumuyiwa Fashanu or Joe Alt written all over it. If Kraft even thinks about keeping Belichick because he beat two terrible Steelers and Broncos teams when the Patriots were already 3-11 I will lose my mind.

Say they take Fashanu at 4 or 5, who’s the QB next season? What about wide receivers? This team has an anemic offense

Yep, I think they would just run it back without improving much. Bill will blame it on Mac to try to convince Kraft to give him another chance with Zappe.

People like to take shots at our OL, but Trent Brown has actually ranked as a top 5 LT for a large portion of the season. Replacing him with another young LT will be a lateral move at best for this offense. Nothing is going to change until they overhaul the receivers and get a new QB.

Before Jurkovec hurt his hand, he and Zay were money. Elite money. Then Phil got hurt, rushed back to play and then was never the same, however Zay has  always been elite. It was a no brainer. Gonzalez will be good for us, but not getting Flowers hurt. I'm a BC fan and that kid is money.

Tee Higgins and kirk cousins, please pick up the white courtesy phone. There's a brinx truck on the other end.

Higgins will get franchised. Cousins just doesn’t do it for me. Would prefer to tank again next season rather than be a middling team with crap draft position.

He likely took it too far in his punishment and he created the dysfunction by hiring a DC as an OC but you still can’t have your players seeking outside help in the middle of the season.

The mature thing for Bill to do would to allow for more communication between he and Mac so they can work thru it internally, but I think he’s probably too stubborn for that, or Mac was afraid to ask him for help, or the solution they came up with internally sucked idk.

Either way it’s dysfunctional at many levels.
