First of all… it’s not a great feeling when your season is only half over, and you’re already looking forward to next season. It’s an even worse feeling knowing that this season was what I was looking forward to last season.

Secondly, the word that comes to mind when it comes to Belichick’s construction of the roster and especially his development of Mac Jones is: “MALFEASANCE.” A great word that I think isn’t used enough anymore. Especially in this case.

Hopefully, the next HC of the NEP is better at QB development.

Maybe we can find our own Stroud in the draft, that kid looks excellent.
That's why at this point I would be perfectly fine if Kraft tried to lure Caserio back here as team President. Caserio picked Stroud and whatever they are doing has worked out tremendously.

No one is saying that Mac hasn’t been bad. But the root of their problems lies way more in the construction of the roster than their quarterback.

The only teams with equal or worse offensive talent than the Patriots are the Giants, Packers, Bears, and Panthers. Those teams are 9-29 with their own versions of mediocre quarterbacks. What do you expect when you surround your quarterback who isn’t known for elite athletic traits with absolutely nothing? Could they be a game or two better if Mac doesn’t make a throw like he did yesterday? Sure, but they’d still be terrible.

Their defense is also bottom 10 in the league and holding Gardner Minshew to 10 points doesn’t change that. This team has a lot of changes that need to be made over the next 3-4 years to get back to competitiveness.

Sounds like your issue is really with the coaches and play calling then, no?
I have a problem with that TOO, yes. I've said since day 1 that BOB is extremely overrated.

But that's a different issue and has no bearing on my ranking of mac.

Because they kept going to the pass in the red zone when the run was working.

Literally any mediocre qb would be better. Mac is the worst starter in the league. You don't think an even average guy would be worth 4 more points on offense over the worst qb in the league?
I honestly don't even see how people are debating this. We all know Belichick is at fault for all of this but Mac Jones is a puddle. He has the yips. There are a number of QBs who could pull off a 13-10 victory yesterday despite this being a terrible team.

Unfortunately, I don’t think any of them play for the Patriots :(
Well, I am also sick of the "Zappe sucks too" crowd. It doesn't matter if Zappe sucks. The starting QB cannot function right now. He just can't. He needs time off. Throw Zappe out there and if he sucks like everyone says then we're well on our way to a top pick. Win-win. I just don't want to see Mac out there anymore. It's painful to watch a kid absolutely crumble week after week. Let someone else take the abuse at this point.

I agree that the time has come to sit Mac. I have been and still am a huge supporter of his, but for his own good it’s time to sit down and not take any more of a beating. Physically OR mentally.

Hopefully the Patriots can sort their operation out this offseason and the turnaround won’t take too long.

Stunning Bill is still here to make that decision potentially. His time has come.

I like Bo Nix. He's generally seen as more of a mid-1st round pick, though.
I hate to say this, but if Nix is the target, would it be wiser to move down to pick Nix, pick up an extra pick, and fill another glaring hole? Harrison will probably be off the board at 3. I don’t see the Patriots picking 1 or 2 in the draft.

That is *if* they’re looking at Nix in the first round.

They just have to suck more than the Giants and Panthers, maybe the Bears get a little better when Fields returns and Cardinals look good with Murray back there.

Tank bowl coming up after the bye, should be entertaining.
I laugh because it's so true. Who would ever thought it would come to this.

Jack Jones is a complete loser both in football and off the field. And it's a good example of why this team is a debacle. Relying on someone as unreliable as this guy just because he flashed some talent.

Kid goes from emerging "star" last year to being suspended at end of the season to being released. Way to throw a career away buddy.

The sixth member of that draft class to be cut or traded??? And the remaining guys are Cole Strange and Tyquan Thornton? What more does Bob Kraft need to see? Where has @DangleCity been.

Two things can be true here.. Belichick absolutely sucks as a GM & has left this roster in complete shambles.. AND Mac Jones is not an NFL starter, panics after realizing his first read is covered & has a wet noodle for an arm.

Jones may have had a chance if Bill did better however. We'll never know.

Add it to his growing list of absolute failure post Brady.
