Duvall looks like an automatic out right now.

Wong with a base hit after 8 straight strikeouts. Needs a longer bat.

Great to see former whipping boy Dalbec back. Only pinch ran but still nearly picked off.

Casas with another blast. Looking like a hitter instead of a looker now.

Really thought Sox would win after tying it when down to their last out.

After a fast start, Winckowski looking like batting practice again.

Wouldn’t shock me to see Wong’s offense go completely in the tank for as long as they don’t have a real backup to give him rest. It’s already starting to after catching a week straight. I bet they give him today off

If I’m Bloom, I let Cora manage the whole season. Keep him as a buffer.

I would like Bloom to pick his own guy. That’s important to a GM finding his own guy. Cora certainly isn’t it. He can hold his own out there but would be nice to have a GM who’s 100% on the same page as the man running the show.

This is definitely the final season I'll accept mediocre results. I still want them to compete and make the playoffs, but I won't soil myself if they miss again. I think this season for the organization as a whole is important:

We're seeing the next wave of young players in Boston -- Bello/Whitlock/Houck/Casas/Duran/Wong.

The Sox are getting looks at the arms in the system -- Bello/Whitlock/Houck/Crawford/Winckowski/Murphy/Walter/

Bloom's prospects are starting to make their way up the farm system now.

2024 Boston Red Sox “Need to Happens”:

1. Acquire top end rotation help:

- Shohei Ohtani (FA)
- Yoshinobu Yamamoto (FA - NPB)
- Julio Urias (FA)
- Lucas Giolito (FA)
- Aaron Nola (FA)
- Dylan Cease (CWS Trade)
- Corbin Burnes (MIL Trade)
- German Marquez (COL Trade)

Whether it's via Free Agency (FA) or Trade, we all know the elephant in the room is to find a starter who can slot in at the top of the rotation. The Sox have a good start with Bello, Whitlock, Houck, Crawford. Sale is still here so he's a question mark, but finding someone to move him down the rotation would be a benefit. Drohan is the closest prospect, currently pitching in AAA. Adding a top end guy would do so much for the Sox next season.

2. Sign Bello to an extension

For the Sox to become a perennial contender, they need to start locking up their young players to long term deals at value AAV.

3. Sign Verdugo to an extension

He loves Boston and wants to stay. Sox don't have anyone pushing him and he fits. He's a good player and is the type of player you need on the field and in the lineup. Adds depth and shouldn't break the bank -- granted his value and cost is rising as the season goes on.

4. Find a Middle of the order Bat

- Teoscar Hernandez (FA)
- Jorge Soler (FA)
- Trade Candidate

Sox need protection for Devers. While I'd prefer a RH, as long as they can provide what's needed here, doesn't really matter to me. Ohtani kills two birds with one stone.... Just saying, Red Sox.

Tampa Rays offer full season 81 games for $249 comes out to $5 a game but it’s in designated areas - standing but organized

If there are 35,000 empty seats can you go sit wherever you want ?

I have the ball park pass for 49 a month but security have been eying the standing room fans at the beginning. later in the game maybe not so bad.

Red Sox suck, and are particularly anemic on the road. That is all.
Yah but Tom Werner saved money when he told Nate Eovoldi the offer was off the table and didn’t return Michael Wacha agent phone calls

Henry needs to pay attention and stop Werner

They can fire Bloom Cora and Wally the Green Monster but until people figure out a fish rots from the head down

Imagine charging those prices and putting out the homophobic guy who’s name escapes me when Michael Wacha is 18-4 last 2 seasons in over 200 IP and 3.00 ERA

As stated above, yes, this team sucks.

Duvall finally does something and the rest of the lineup folds.

When's the last time Yoshida had a hit of any consequence?

Dalbec returns to whipping boy status.

What in the hell was Casas doing on the throw from right field on Benny's double in the 5th? That was little league stuff.

Caleb Hamilton: Out of the blue this guy gets a shot in the show (he was hitting .180 in Worchester). Gets up with the bases loaded, 2 outs. Strikes out without taking the bat off his shoulder. That's 3 pitches in the strike zone. No swings. Seemed like pants pissing time.

Eight runs scored in last 4 games.

You are apparently behind. It’s Cora’s fault right now
