I disagree that his unwilling to engage. He has definitely been way more willing to use his body this year. He's currently on pace to pass his career high in hits by the 35 game mark, and he's going into board battles a lot more where in the past he would poke at the puck, but he's finally using his body as leverage.

He still has a bunch to work on, and a lot of it is his split second decision making. Which to me is the biggest issue across the team right now.

Another fun thing about Kyrou this year even tho he's so terrible defensively, he's only been on ice for 8 goals against 5V5. Compared to Schenn and Neighbours who have been on ice for 15, Buch 13, Saad, Faksa, and Texier have been on ice for 9. Thomas who had only played 7 games has been on ice for 6 against. And it's not even that he's not playing much 5v5 either. Hes second only to Thomas in average TOI 5v5 this year.

Another injury. Loof you're up
I know what you're saying and largely agree. He's engaged another gear defensively, but he has another gear on offense as well. We need to be patient as he develops his two-way game.

And that Buch goal was all Kyrou. Kyrou got by his man, we got off a shot, Kyrou finished a check as BUF exited and Binny played the puck and then Kyrou backed them up for the Buch goal.

Great shift by Kyrou!!!

I don’t think either of you are wrong. He has found another gear but he still has another one or two. Last shift is a prime example of what his is capable. Just needs to keep doing it more and more.

Ahhhhh, my bad. I saw engage and mind went initially to using his body. I definitely agree he needs to push more offensively, but he's playing like he's too scared to push too hard and it ends up going the other way. I think a lot of that is because the lack of offense from the rest of the lineup. He needs to let his mind go and push more, but he needs to be smart about it at the same time.

I agree. I think what we are seeing is Kyrou being a little too cautious as he develops that two-way game, but that's okay. I think once he gains confidence in his man strength, he'll pop.

If only Toropchenko had decent hands. He should be assigned a personal trainer for hand exercises. Hand muscle stretching for 8 hours a day. Once they become "un-stoned", he'll need to spend 4 hours a day practising shooting.
or have him work with Roberto Duran, to find a different use for his “hands of stone” :)

I remember commenting on Jaskin that he needs to take some ballet lessons. I was serious and am serious right now. Toro needs to loosen up. Some ballet lessons will help him to loosen up and calm down.
