Someone's gotta think of the poor millionaire's feelings...
You act as if Yoshida is the one demanding that people start bullying the kid to give the ball back, which he's not. It's the bobos like Carrabis, Barstool, and the other dummies on the internet who are doing it. Yoshida has been nothing but diplomatic in asking for it so he could give it to his mom back in Japan to hold on to. I don't think he's being unreasonable or a monster with that request. The Red Sox haven't called for a harassment campaign of this poor kid and the family either.
In any event, I see both sides of the argument for those that are being reasonable and rational for what is a minor to nothing issue; rather than a bunch of terminally online losers who think trying to socially shame and strong arm a kid into handing back what is a really special ball. I would like to think there would be a happy medium where the kid can get an autographed ball and the bat Yoshida hit the home run with as a fair exchange, but then I remember that it is 2023. Asking for compromise is a herculean task.
