No way. Expectations are so low if he gets in one fight everyone here will be happy.

my guess is Freddy, I like him but no way does he score 17 again.
Im afraid that it might happen. People need to lower their expectations.
No. It won't happen.

I think there's too much respect, too much affection, for what Milan has meant to the Bruins.

It might not work out, but I think most fans will be respectful. He's not going to be here more than a few years anyway.

Remember, other clubs came calling. Milan wanted to come back to Boston. He's not going to dog it. He's passionate, and that's always been the engine of his game.

I think it's fair to say that he's passionate about Boston, and he's passionate about the Bruins.

Besides, Luci will go looking for any detractors.

And he will find them.

I already see it in some of the posts on here. If he doesn't come out of the gates to impress and in some cases even if he does , he's gonna get torn apart.

He's going to have some competition...

Fred looks pretty darn good at times but most of the time meh. Hope for him and the bruins he shows well this year. Bruins certainly didn't feel the player warranted the contract he was seeking.

If this fanbase can turn on Cam Neely (albeit not while he was a player), no one is really safe.

Lucic under performs or becomes more hindrance than help with a role larger than he's still skilled to do, I can see that being an issue.

Lucic as a 4th liner at this stage? Great, it works.

Lucic masquerading as a 2nd liner well past his prime? That could be a problem.

Not saying that situation will happen, but stranger things have happened.

And looking at this teams depth... If Zacha is at C, that 2LW is up for grabs.

What is the likelihood he joins the bruins? BU thing helps, no?
Organization position of need: check
NE college product: check
MA resident: check

My guess is that the Bruins are in on it.

If I had to guess, historically: Bruins, Rangers, or Penguins are his final destination. If he prefers Boston to the others, we'll see

Jay O’Brien is another nice college fa. Former 19th overall pick hasn’t really developed into the Center the flyers thought when drafting him. Played some wing at the end of the season at BU.

Shocked if the Bruins cannot sign him. Center role available in Boston immediately.

This fan base does not play. They expect players to perform.

At this point, the only deal for a 1c that I could see happening would have to be for a pending ufa so salary could be retained.

I think Frederic would be going the other way… I feel like there’s a deal there around Scheifele and Stanley for Frederic, Forbort and something good. That’s $5m out and $7m in so $2m retained for 1 year.

Forbort doesn’t have any value now but I would think he could be flipped at the deadline to someone needing PK help.

Maybe that deal has to happen closer to the deadline when WPG is at risk of losing him for nothing. Scheifele has a 10 team NTC and there can’t be 10 teams looking for a 30 year old #1c. If I wee him I’d pick my team and block everyone else.

If Montgomery plays Lucic up on the top 2 lines consistently it will be a horrible flashback to another players' coach of years past who had the great idea of playing PJ Stock with Thornton at times. It will spell the end of Monty in Boston.

I loved Lucic as a player in his prime and he can still add to the team in the right role, but anything above the 10-12 mins a night and it will likely be a disaster and prove that the FO needed a binkie in the Centennial season with the playoff crash and burn and gutted roster up front.

Would love nothing more than to be wrong and somehow Lucic reverts to the 2011 Lucic of yesteryear, but it doesn't really work that way.

Clear cache/cookies to access,

Interesting article, but I don’t think the assertion that Chara “was not invited back” is accurate. As I recall, they offered him a contract with a reduced minutes role and he wasn’t interested.
