I say he can put up 50 points easily with jake and marchy. Hes skilled and best of the PTO bunch.

Don these are the type of posts that sometimes make me think you are playing a character here.

There is no way you actually believe this do you?

You really think a 50 pt center is just sitting there waiting to be signed? You know better than every NHL org right now?

Not advocating grabbing Statsny but Sprong was a PTO last season who collected 46 points....teams miss guys sometimes, but usually they're younger, not 37.

What can you tell us about Geekie ? I’m not very confident Zacha and Coyle are good enough for the top 6 but Geekie does appear to have untapped potential from what I have read .
Not unlike Coyle, not the same level of puck protector, seems to like to move it more quickly rather than carry it. Bigger and stronger than people probably think, takes a second to get moving but good speed. Seattle fans say he has an under-the-radar snapshot. Smart and quick with with the puck when he gets it, knows where it's going beforehand.

I could definitely see him ending up in the bottom-6, no doubt, but I really think him and Boqvist are gonna be motivated for that next deal, and can grab some points with more toi.

How about a deal with Pittsburgh centered around Granland(some retention) and Forbort. It’s a 1 year for 1 year swap that could help with this year of transition. I believe Grandy has only 1 year remaining on his deal. Not a perfect fit, but an acceptable option.

Sold I'm in we need a skilled center bad. Donny is nuts to just have Coyle and zacha as 1 and 2.

What about Yan ?
Wow that's a name I haven't heard in awhile. I remember my first ever time watching a Bruins game during the 2006 season. They were getting smoked by the Panthers I believe and one of their guys jumped on Yan Stastny and Chara skated on in to defend him

Anton and Mariam were so dynamic. They drove me crazy with their powerful skating. They were incredible. If the Bruins had them back in the eighties' it would've tipped the scales for us. Unfortunately, Sinden didn't seem to have any interest in Eastern Europeans.

I would prefer not to go back in time , and I would prefer go with the kids, give them a shot ......
Way back when I used to see things that way. However now I want all of the best talent. The fact is when going through a transition phase giving the kids competition is the best thing for them. If Lauko/Lysell/Steen/Mcaughlin can’t beat out Boquist/Richards/JVR/ and other fringe guys then they don’t deserve it.

Despite all that I think we have found guys all over the place and we have setup a good competition already. I won’t be disappointed if we go to camp with the current guys. If there is a PTO thrown in at the end, then that’s fine too.

I think everybody needs to pump the brakes on the Geekie hype. He put up very good numbers in a 4c role last season, so there may be more potential there. However, those who are expecting him to be anywhere close to a 1C are in for a rude awakening. If everything goes perfect, then maybe he can become a 2C, but that is the absolute best outcome imo. If he had the potential to be a 1C, then Seattle would not have let him go. Remember that some people thought that Mike Reilly might have potential to be a top 3D on the team after his post deadline stint.

He’s a 4C whose ceiling is a 3C. That’s it. If everything goes good he could be our Coyle replacement for 3C and if not he’s a Nosek replacement at 4C

Well might as well throw him out there with good wingers and see 'what sticks'.
