Imagine what he would have received if two different head coaches hadn't benched him in the playoffs in back-to-back years for being a total ghost out there.
I thought he was playing well enough to start game one over Foligno, who hadn’t played in a month or two if I recall. Frederic had a better season than Foligno and it didn’t really make sense to throw Foligno into playoff action after missing significant time. Not that he made any difference when he did play but I thought that seemed more like a let’s give it to the vet because he’s going to whine for the next two weeks if I bench him the entire round.

So now it's either trade forbort or run a 22 man roster I'd guess. Assuming Sway comes in around 3.6mil like Samsonov did, idk if burying Forbort will free up enough space. It's only like 400k in savings when you consider anyone who replaces him will be making 775k at minimum.

Bruins up 3-1 when he benched Freddy for Lauko

All Lauko did was get 2 penalties the second leading to the third goal for Florida by Reinhart- and screwed up a 2 on 0 breakin with Nosek where Lauko got in to deep and inexplicably passed to an unsuspecting Nosek who wasn’t ready for it

I very tidy suckage of 7:24 in game 5 for Lauko

Freddy played game 3 and 4 both wins and he played well

In fairness to Monty even though he admits he didn’t consult any of his coaching staff on the Frederic and crazy lineup I give him credit for admitting he made a mistake

Frederic 17 ESG and top 20 forwards in +/- and 3-1 v Florida before Monty let his kid pick a lineup and lines

If I were them I’d still try to move Forbort. Even for a 7th and if need be retaim 1M.

Sign Sway and see if the rest can lure DK back for ~ 1M + and bonuses.
I don’t see it but maybe with Lucic he does

You flip Lindholm and or Hanifin and it’s over

Start watching who’s 8th seed for first round matchup

Not comfortable winning another Prez Trophy

Maybe Sweens should play for WC

Frederic played center games 3 and 4, I thought he was noticeably good.

I am taking the Bruins and betting the house on under 101.5.
I think we get somewhere between 95-98 points.

Basically they are assuming the points above this that Boston, Carolina, Leafs, NJ and NYR earned last season will be distributed among the rest of the teams other than TB/NYI/Philly who they don't predict to increase or decrease.

CBJ get the biggest bump, up to 75 pts. from 59. The rest are basically 6-7 pt. increases.

Boston falls the most (by far) obviously but all 5 of last years top teams are predicted to drop, even the predicted division winning Leafs.

IDK the info about Miller was specific, detailed and in public documents. There was an Athletic article that pretty much laid everything out, plus a family that was willing to talk about the abuse on the record, and a team that publicly walked away from the player because of these specific acts.

Seems a lot easier of a situation to know about than some vague whispers in a locker room. I can't say that I have the same confidence in commitment to character issues when they so blatantly disregarded some of the worst character issues around and then boldly (I'm going to say it)- lied about it. Most teams will pick talent over nice guyness. Not sure why Neely and Sweeney would be any different.

You may be right about this particular case. It's certainly true that the facts were readily available.

Did they lie? Maybe. I think more than anything, they completely failed in their due diligence and thought they could get away with the signing.

I understand that many teams will look the other way per character issues if the guy can play. I believe the Bruins are better than most in this regard.

Seeing Krejci back post Bergeron retirement would feel weird.
A good weird.

Has the season started?

The only thing that does give me pause is he hasn’t retired. If he is, I’m guessing he just hasn’t because he wanted Bergeron’s announcement to have it’s time in the cycle.

But, much like with bergeron, he could be waiting for the right time to know. Perhaps he still feels like his body is capable and he’s had talks with sweeney about returning mid season for one last stretch run. Could even sign and say “I’m retiring at the end of this season” which takes a lot of the heat and drama off of it as fans just expect it

My money is on he’s done, but if he really was you just have to wonder why he didn’t announce at the end of the season right away

Looks good to me for the most part, although I think one of BUF/OTT is going to pop this season. They didn’t miss the playoffs by much. I wouldn’t be surprised to see FLA miss the playoffs outright.

TBH, at this point I'd rather just move on, unless he's coming in at the 11th hour as a PO addition.

Which to that... while he put up numbers, is he still the right fit for the rest of the team? we shuffled our lineup to get Bergeron and Krejci back into the playoffs, and we goofed up a 3-1 lead. I think the line shuffling was part of that.

Otherwise, thanks for the times.

How would we even afford Krejci to come back?
If sway comes in at 3.4 we will have a 23 man roster that’s 300k over the cap

Send 2 guys at around 800k down to providence we’d have a 21 man roster with about 1.3 mill in space

Sign Krejci 1x1 we’d have a 22 man roster with about 300k in space
