Looks good to me for the most part, although I think one of BUF/OTT is going to pop this season. They didn’t miss the playoffs by much. I wouldn’t be surprised to see FLA miss the playoffs outright.
If Ottawa gets off to a good start this year count them in. The last two years their slow starts sank them. They have three strong lines solid D and if Korpisalo can play solid their in, imo.

Sign Swaymans arbitration deal and demote Forbort and you have your 23 man roster. this roster gives you 4mil to sign Swayman.

Merkulov - Zacha - Pastrnak
Marchand - Coyle - DeBrusk
JVR - Frederic - Boqvist
Lucic - Geekie - Lauko
Brown

Lindholm - McAvoy
Grzelcyk- Carlo
Zboril - Shattenkirk
Mitchell

Ullmark
Swayman
Is this kid Merkulov ready ? I am pushing for Geekie between Marchand and DeBrusk , give a try and then we can see what we have , and Coyle can stay 3rd line so all the negative Coyle posters will be happy.......I am not loving that D......

We're pretty much set roster wise and basically cap-compliant...... unless SweeNeely address the 1C slot....then all bets are off.

They dont have cap space or assets (they aren't trading McAvoy or Pasta) for #1C.

In all likelihood this year they should be pretty stoked if they make the playoffs. Hope someone like Merkulov breaks through and gear up for 2024 offseason.

If Debrusk doesn't want to resign:

Hanifin + Lindholm for Debrusk + Gryz + 2025 1st

Move Forbort or send him down to the minors
Cap compliant and in great shape for 2023-2024 season

Capfriendly already has Megna in PRO to become cap compliant so maybe they know something given he's taking down over 300K to play in PRO on his deal..

Megna knows the deal. Hench the big AHL number as you mentioned.

He'll be a frequent call-up but will likely captain the Baby B's.

I'd say it's more likely Zboril is done here. Send him to Providence (or send him elsewhere) and you have a 22-man roster with $779,166, enough to actually call up someone, F or D (even though the cap is calculated daily just illustrating a point).

All in all, the tight cap may actually make it harder to call up guys like Merkulov, Lohrei, and Lysell as their base salary is above that 775k mark. Merk and Lohrei's base is 925k each. Lysell 863k. It may give an edge to guys making the minimum when they need to call someone up.

A lot of issues would be solve if they could just find Forbort a new home. As it stands, Evan Gold will have his work cut out for him with these uber-tight margins.

A 23-man roster with that final spot making the minimum 775k does make the Bruins cap compliant. However, how do you manage call-ups when your remaining cap space is 4 grand. ($4,166).

He's this season's Vinni Lettieri or Paul Carey- break glass in case of emergency and get a guy up that won't likely help much, but won't hurt you either.

If I was Sweeny I would trade or waive the worst defenseman on the team to become cap compliant personally.
That's what will happen, but definitely not happening until camp. Shattenkirk, Regula, Mitchell, Zboril, Walsh and maybe even Lorhei will all be battling for the 6RD and 7D spots, and they can all be sent to Providence without any cap impact.

So the roster is officially complete I’d say.
yeah, I know they want a center but I don't think they make a move for one until the deadline, if at all. They'll see what this group can do as is. If they're playing well they'll add someone, and if it just isn't working this year they have plenty of pendings UFAs they could shop at the deadline to replenish some picks.

Which is why we saw all those young players signing for the league minimum.

Don't think Hampus can play C.

B's mutually terminating Debrusk's contract to make the salary work or is there some special magic fairy dust that created 4m in cap space?
One I explained it earlier in one of theee threads- No DeBrusk no fairy fuse - I’m out to eat don’t have time to go over

Check last Thursday or Wednesday I think that day. Brilliant post

I think Anthony Richard has a very good shot at making this team. His stats in the AHL and sample size in the NHL show he can put the puck in the net. He had 30 goals and 67 points in 60 games in the AHL last year.
